We've had to renegotiate the contracts of several high earners to get us under the 65% limit. Whatever happens, Wilson won't be around long enough to get the free reign that you insinuate is available with that "huge budget".

Are we the only club with these problems? Yes I assume we are in your world

We could ask you if we're the only team that thinks they should be pushing for promotion too...? Yes I assume we are in your world

Meanwhile, in Mic's World, a bit like Disneyland but where every character is Eeyore, it's another gloomy day in the Hundred Acre Wood. It always is. Drizzle and fog, with nary a ray of sunshine, and hope fucked off long, long ago.........

I don't think any other club we're competing with now was paying over £20M a year in wages a few years ago - or is left with paying players like Cresswell almost £1M per year.

If you're going to keep going on about resources, I'm going to try and balance it a bit.

Not that any of it makes any difference, because you're simply full of shit.

Serious question, alco. How much are we paying Cressy and how long will we be paying him that amount?

If you don't you mean him, who are players "like" him and what are we paying each of those and for how long?

Clearly I don't know the exact details of his contract. Just like Mic doesn't know the exact details of how our resources compare with others. I know he was signed in the day when we must have been paying players up to that amount, because you couldn't arrive at a £20M + wage bill any other way.

He was a striker, signed from a premiership club. I'd be fairly confident in suggesting that Cressie will be paid in a year almost third of what many of our competitors pay in wages to the entire squad. The ones Mic and other Blade haters like to hate us even more for not being 20 points ahead of.

Montgommery would be similar, and a chunk of his wages will have fallen into this years budget. Same for Quinn.

I'd suggest Doyle, who's contract was renegotiated along the same lines would be another painful contract, renegotiated out of absolute necessity, but used to hate the club more because "we're extending the contract of an old man".

My point is that we've as a matter of fact been managing the budget backwards and that means that in some ways Wilson's hands are tied. This is nothing but common sense. Anyone who fails to recognise this simply has an agenda, or is completely full of shit (like Mic).

Not sure Cresswell will be on 1m a year now, can't see us still paying 20k a week.

I'm sure the likes of Cresswell and perhaps Kitson, KMac and Blackman will all be on above 10k a week, which is still 500k a year....

No, my guess would be towards £15K per week - and then, as you do, you add a bit to drive your point home........:D

You get the gist though, eh?

They could have sent Cresswell and Doyle on a years holiday to Australia rather than extending their contracts to pay them the same over a longer period. A bit far fetched is this idea that there is no way round this FFP and 65% rubbish, should we get promotion both will be useless to us (fookin hell they are useless now ) but we will still have to pay them, as far as I'm concerned we are just storing up more debt with no chance of any return.

Aye, just send them on holiday. Why didn't they think of that.

Jesus wept.

Aye I get the gist... It's still a lot of wedge though! But wouldn't be surprised if there was a huge gulf in wages from the likes of Flynn, probably on 3-4k, to the big earners.

Problem is with the likes of Doyle and Cresswell is that perhaps the manager wants them... Like all his squad...

I've said it before, but I'd be extremely surprised if Danny Wilson doesn't have some form of budget control. So he'll spread the wages across the squad as he sees fit.

No point thinking of players we'd need in the championship, you don't even think we're good enough for this division

Ask Alcho he has all the answers or is that apologies ?

Are you saying that Alco is Jesus or he knows Jesus?

You're an unreliable source as you believe that Dave Jones was welsh just because he's called Jones and managed Cardiff :)

If our turnover is approx £10m then we've got a wage bill of about £6m on current figures. We've 30 senior professionals plus 40 (approx) YTS players to fit into that. Assuming a YTS player is on £240 a week leaves £5.5m for 30 senior pros: a mean of just over £3.5k p/w.

I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere on here from someone claiming to be ITK that Cresswell was on £12k per week plus add-ons. I'd be amazed if we'd offered him a new deal anywhere near that.

In short, I'm fairly confident that our top earners won't be on anything like £10k. Probably £5-£7k for the players you've mentioned; plus Collins and Doyle. Don't forget, we refused to match Williamson's offer of £4k from Portsmouth and he was probably one of the higher earners last season.

Hey Swiss - thanks for liking a post with personal abuse of me in it - that's big of you pal. The ultimate in bravery.

And if you think Kmac and Blackie are on 10k a week you must have supped a bit too much this Xmas. Less than 5k Swiss I am sure.

We could ask you if we're the only team that thinks they should be pushing for promotion too...? Yes I assume we are in your world

Yep - we are the only team that should expect to get at least 86 points. The only team that should expect to win this league - and play attractive football, building for a decent stab at 2nd tier while we are at it.

Players under the age of 20 on 1st July are exempt from SCMP.

Oh give over Mic, stop being so precious. I thought Alco's post was good and amusing. You spend your whole time on here abusing people at the club, so please don't get all high and mighty over a little like.

As for bravery, this is from the man that bangs out anti McCabe vitriol and turns to name calling of blades managers as soon as they have a bad run... Yet can never be brave enough to turn up to the fan forums, the AGM or even have a drink with the rest of us at the Lion pre match anymore ;)

Stevenage, Brentford, Notts County and MK Dons probably have a greater right to that than us, after all they didn't have to rip their side apart from last season...

What, that you're full of shit?

If that's disgusting to you then add "soft as shit" to the list.

And let's not pretend that you don't constantly troll for this kind of thing.....:)

Yes it was hilarious, my mistake.

Fancy someone suggesting a change of manager on a football forum or slating the owner (nothing of real note mind you - just detest the bloke as a property speculator and for destroying SUFC).

Told you zillions of times - I don't want to go and be fed nonsense by McCabe's cronies.

Seriously though Swiss it is hard to take you and Alco seriously if you think Kmac and Blackie are on 10k plus. Stick to the insults and stuff.

What does troll mean?

What is up with you by the way? I've been called alot worse Alco on here - is that the best you've got? Is that trolling?

Just as long as you know there are plenty of Blades disgusted with McCabe and bored to death of the football we are watching this term.
