Have Wolves got a we are taking our boy back clause. Dunno.

Or is it a club might offer Wolves some £'s to buy him,maybe, but he is contracted with Wolves until 2024.

Lots to unpick here but I’ll save a bit of time and say we’d struggle to afford him if we were promoted. Any talk of signing him in the Championship is for the birds. He’s a £25-30M player and he’ll have the contract to go with that and Wolves have a recall clause in Jan.
I’d suggest the most likely scenario for a recall is because they want him for their first team squad so the better Wolves do, the more likely we are to keep him and currently they’re looking rather shit.

I wish people would chill out about MGW being recalled in January. Yes it’s more than likely he will, the recruitment team need to prepare for this. He’s not our player, nor is he a player we could afford in this league. For me if he gets us back in the mix by January and we can replace him quickly then I’m fine with that.

Fact is, if he continues to produce the goods and look like a premier league player playing in the league below then Wolves will probably recall him regardless of how they are doing in the league.

They clearly sent him out to get game time and prove his worth, and up to now he’s doing well and taking advantage of what has been given to him. As others have said, we need to plan and prepare for that happening at a moments notice to ensure his return doesn’t stop our progress….though on the other hand an injury would do the same anyway so we deal with it

He's started 10 games in 3 years at wolves, he's already on 3 starts 2 goals and 2 assists here, is the key player, makes everything tick and is adored by all. If wolves had any intelligence they would let him stay here for the season.

Wolves sent him out for regular experience of rough & tumble, competitive football. Unless they could match that for the 2nd half of the season, then they would be stupid to recall, and I expect he wouldn't want to spend 5 months flitting between the bench and the reserves when he could be starting for us every single game.

Ultimately, is he good enough to dig them out of a relegation scrap (which is the most likely scenario for a recall)? Maybe, but they may be best letting him get a full season at this level in case they actually do go down. That is unlikely anyway, as there are plenty of PL teams much worse than them.

In any case, and as said by others, the recruitment team need to prepare as if he will be recalled, and I am sure that they are doing that. At the same time I hope they are already softening Wolves up to the option of extending the loan in January.

Morgan Gibbs-White to Sheffield United on loan looks like going through. No option for the Blades to buy. Gibbs-White has featured in three games in 21/22, scored against Forest, but Wolves feel a full season in the Champ will benefit him more #WWFC

They do have a clause to bring him back in Jan. It will likely just depend on how wolves are doing then and if they have any injuries. This is the problem with loans too.

Fingers crossed we have him for the season and he helps us win promotion.
We won't have any chance to sign him perm unless we are promoted.

Thing is he seems to not quite make it into their first team under Nuno and now new boss. Their fans love him poss partly as he's an academy grad too.
We can just hope we have him for the season. I do hope we are thinking for back up options too in case it happens.

So far he has been the main difference between the shit we played before before we had him and now where we look like scoring goals. Also we have Ndaiye. He is a kid straight out of the U23's who looks like he is struggling to play more than about 70 minutes. However if he stays fit he will get stronger and as he gains experience he will get even better than he already is. Slav is obviously looking after him and suspect that's why he didn't play at Hull but if MGW is recalled we have Ndaiye in the wings who will hopefully be able to step up. If we could keep the 2 for the whole season that would be fantastic.

If rumours are true Wolves were interested in the last window in taking McB on loan to add to their forward line, in January they may be in relegation fight where they see him as more important than recalling MGW. They can have McB in a straight swop for MGW until the end of the season.

Just enjoy his talent, and he will probably be here all season even if he continues to tear up the division unless there’s an injury crisis at Wolves. Good as he undoubtedly is, there is a big difference between taking Peterborough or Hull apart and starting regularly for a team that will almost certainly be at least mid table premier league this season. But I do agree our scouting team should be looking at contingency options just in case.

Agree its just speculation. For all we know come Nov he could take a dip in form (hope not). Anything can happen. If the board had any sense they would think about negotiating again to buy in Jan and start doing it now. Straight swap for McB and a little cash as a sweetener ?

Who knows stop speculating and enjoy the here and now.

Plus I think the player would have a say in that. If he is performing and happy here then I wouldn't see a point in moving him on to another club.

I've seen people say he should stop doing flicks and tricks because occasionally gives ball away .. imho worst thing we could do is stunt his creativity.

MGW may go back then Wolves will have to find a squad place for him, pay his and is he going to be an impact sub for them at best. Wolves will also be well aware of the gulf in standard between the two divisions.

The main problem with MGW and Wolves is where he fits into their system. They have much better options out wide (Traore, Trincao, Podence, Neto when he is back) and and usually only play one up from (Jimenez). Even when they have gone 2 up front this season they have better options - Fabio Silva who cost them a fortune and is seen as their big young prospect, and Hwang He-Chan who looks like an absolute beast! Hopefully good news for us that Wolves either won’t need him back, or MGW doesn’t see an opportunity for regular starts.

The Ebanks- Landell situation is a great example.
I remember for a few months Blades were raving about him.
They said “he can be the rock in our defence for years, let’s show some ambition, make a huge bid, pay him whatever he wants”
Notice how his career has steadily gone downhill. He wasn’t this great centre back that Blades thought.
At the weekend he played for a poor Shrewsbury side away at Hillsboro.
