I went through a similar thing when I got engaged. I said that all I would get involved in would be:
- The Venue, grub (and Booze), it was her choice of venue but from there we would set the Wedding budget
- The cars (optional depending on the venue)
- My Suit.
- My stag do

After that the only thing I would be involved in would be managing the budget. I would only get in the way with her, her sister, her mum, aunties, my mum, sister, the dog and anyone else that chucked in their opinion.

And as I am quite opinionated I would only end up saying things like "why the fook do we need table decorations". It needed to be her special day and as Balham said, us men only get in the way in the planning.

But no.... she wanted me involved in all the other shite.

I'm now single.

Have to admit, the best thing a man can do in any wedding his keep control of who is his bestman, his ushers and what he is wearing. I feigned interest and put up little fights before giving in on everything else.

The biggest bitch of all though which nobody expects is who is sitting with who and on what table. Fuck me, did sparks fly.
