Mental health

I think you have a very poor grasp of what it is to truly be bipolar.

I'd imagine delaying all the games by a minute will be a big help though.

The FA will have 'done their bit' and we can all move on. Maybe have a 2 minute delay to kick offs in the 4th round to combat homophobia, 3 minutes in the 5th round for mysogyny etc etc.

It is tokenism at its very worst.

Like any sensible person, I have no issues with publicising mental health issues, but we all know this will be forgotten immediately.

Can't disagree with you.

Also the irony isn't lost on me about a game, where its participants are required to persistently pound their craniums, being advocates for mental health!

Obviously you do have an issue with publicising mental health issues or you wouldn’t have commented.

That's an odd conclusion to draw, but thanks for the Freudian analysis.

I was thinking of the grand gesture of a one minute delay being on a par with the equally hard hitting rainbow laces thing.

Homophobia or people hiding mental health problems are clearly 'not good things', so on the face of it any publicity should help. I just happen to think that the one minute delay is more a gesture to show just how concerned and 'real' the FA are. It's a cynical view admittedly, but then the FA hardly have a glorious history of tackling sensitive issues head on.

I think it’s a fairly logical conclusion; you say you don’t have a problem with publicising mental health issues but criticise the FA for doing so. If it helps people talk about mental health issues, if it makes someone feel more comfortable discussing their own problems, does it actually matter why the FA are doing it? It’s not like they’re asking anyone to put themselves out.

No, you're right.

Good old FA.

Bless their little cotton socks for their interest in the mental health of mankind.

I look forward to further delays for other good causes and you are 100% correct that we should not in any way question their motives.

I've heard that the Premier League are also a wonderful community minded organisation, solely devoted to all that is good in football. I think FIFA have said that racism is 'bad' and the lads at UEFA seem a decent bunch, so pretty much all is well with football governance at present.

I dont get the negative comments over why this is being done. A minute out of your time is nothing. AND if you had read about this properly first you would find out the reason for the 1 minute delay is because a 1 minute awareness video is being aired before all the live on tv matches kick off so as to show solidarity all the matches were put back by one minute. Some right ignorant muppets on here jumping in without finding out the whole story first.

What have the FA ever done for us?

Maybe they've changed and this is a new radical FA who will strive to challenge prejudice, unfairness and bias, wherever it exists. No stone will remain unturned in the crusade against blah blah blah...

No problems with that.

Some right ignorant muppets on here..

None taken.
