That was the coldest I’ve ever been at a football match, it was freezing cold with a biting wind and no reason to jump around and cheer which might have helped.

Here in town, old wooden top told us young lads that he had seen men cry of the cold on the Baltic convoys in WW2.

We just didn't comprehend.

This was my first ever Blades away game (85). 5 -0 Hammering on a freezing Day, could've genuinely been 10 -0 if not for Budgie's Heroics, I was Hooked!

I remember that game. lost 5-0 and it was very cold like stood in a fuckin freezer. a better memory Beating them 3-0 at the lane to confirm promotion.the only time i stood at the Bramall lane end.got in free. my dad knew a bloke that had a silver disc.me him on John st. great memories.

Sat next to a large black fellow at Watford once, Leigertwood was playing for us. He did something shit and we all started laughing and calling him ‘legs of wood’, as was customary for the time.

Big black bloke stood up and told us to shut up, then the lad at the side of him, who coincidentally looked like Leigertwood also had a go.

We realised it was dad and brother so we didn’t take the piss again.
