Must be old age, I thought John Tudor was Doc Paces replacement but no,
Tudor was 1968./71. 78 apps 37goals
Pace. was 1957 /64, 301 apps 175 goals
So who was the regular C/F for the 4 years between them ?

There are particularly two games in the 1970s that I do not recall watching.

We beat Coventry 3-1 on a rainy day in April 1973. When I saw the goals of that match in the YTV goals 1968 to 1981 video, I still had no recollection of the goals. It could be because I was taking part in a school athletics meeting at Leeds. For years I thought that athletics meeting I took part was in a midweek but I might have been wrong as it could have been on a Saturday as it rained all day like it was at Bramall Lane as you can see in the video.

The other was when we beat Chelsea 2-1 at Bramall Lane in February 1975. I was home for that weekend (it was an Open Day weekend at my boarding school and many pupils went home for the long weekend), it was the only time Gary Jones (on loan from Bolton) played a home match for us, Len Badger scored our 2nd goal (Woody scored the first), Jim Brown saved a John Hollins penalty but I couldnt remember any of them. The strange thing is that I do remember going to the Ball Inn a few days later to watch our first team train. Gary Jones was there, Ted Hemsley talking to my dad, Jim Brown larking about, Woody being ordered to fetch the ball after it was kicked out of the ground towards a downhill road and when he came back to the ground he moaned that he couldnt find the ball! Also when I was watching the training I remember thinking we play at Burnley on the next Saturday. It is a mystery why I do not remember being at the Chelsea match as I would have had a lot to talk about when I returned to school.

Can remember the Chelsea game.

Stood outside the Harlequin chippy afterwards , a stranger saw my scarf and asked what the result was. Keen as owt I replied '"2-1 United , Woody and Badger scored and Jim Brown saved a penalty'.

My slightly older mate ( him 12 , me 10) said as we sauntered off , ' Bleeding ell, he asked for the score not a fucking match report'.

Scathing wit (still mates though).

I thought I had remembered all the games I went to in the 1970s, it was when I got Denis Clareborough's 100 years book in 1989 when I looked for the score for the home league game against Chelsea during the 1974-75 season. I was thinking to myself "February 15th?. That has to be my school's Open Day weekend meaning I would have been home that weekend and I don't remember this?". I thought that looking at the photos and match reports of the match would re-jog my memory but it hasn't!
