As another poster has mentioned, we are indeed in for a difficult season, anyone that thought otherwise is deluded. But don`t let this forum go into meltdown after every defeat, because there will be a lot of them and stop looking for a scapegoat every time, just trust that Wilder and Knill know whats required to finish 4th bottom, any higher will be a bonus for this coming season.Chill

Spot on old lad we've got to get used to losing this season it's natural, in League 1 & Championship not many beat us due to us being good. We are still good but CW has instilled team spirit that goes all through the team, not just when winning enjoy the season & don't give a shit what the pundits say we a re Blades and no one knows our club better than us.

I've been prone to bad tempered meltdowns in the past.

At the minute I don't feel the need to do it. I've recognised that the club is in a fantastic state at the minute, Chris Wilder and Alan Knill have earned the respect and backing of every single United fan, and although this could be a long, hard season and relegation after one season is a very real possibility, we have really got to stick behind the team and management because this is still a long term project and relegation after a season will almost certainly mean we will drop with a side who will not fuck about in the Championship the season after next.

Hmmm, given the reaction to a rolling sub added time multiball preseason fcking friendly, i fear you may need to crop your expectations.

There really are some dick heads who support this club.

3 years ago we were just coming out of a six year spell in league 1.

Avoiding relegation by a single goal would be a massive achievement and should be our objective. Anything above 4th from bottom is a massive bonus. Anyone who expected a mid table push is an idiot.

To meltdown over a pre-season friendly which is for fitness and trial and error purposes is moronic.

We need to get behind the team like every game is the old cliche cup final. Not bitch and bicker amongst ourselves. Let cheer the lads and enjoy ourselves ffs. Some away games won’t know what’s hit them this season when we rock up, get pissed and sing our hearts out

Anyone who seriously doubts wilders signings, team selections and tactics at this point after 2 promotions in 3 seasons off the back of the above mentioned 6 year spell of depression can just fuck right off and stick their head in a microwave for me.

Every club has them its like life really, vast majority of people I meet are ok, it's the small percentage that gets the headlines, 99% of blades know we are going to have a tough time of it,the difference is at the moment we have recruited well which gives us justified optimism to enjoy the moment, the question is who on here are in the 1%?

Finishing 4th from bottom will be worth over 100million again and that will be amazing .kick the doubters into touch

Merge thread please- with ' We are in for a difficult season'.

Interesting topic Blade.

I for one will not be entering in to debates that centre on kneejerk reactions after losing a couple of games on the trot.

However, disappointment is handled differently by individuals, and this is an open forum to express feelings.

I didn’t panic , unlike some on here after the
Millwall defeat in division 3 , and predicted Sir Chris and AK to come good
I didn’t panic in our first season in La Liga when we where beaten
I didn’t panic when we lost last year in our promotion season to the premier league
And I won’t panic this season when we get beaten, because I know this season will be tough ,
I won’t be taking a lot of notice of what people say on football heaven or praise and grumble
I will be thankful that our club is on an even keel with some very good signings , and am optimistic about our future
And I’m saying it now even IF we get relegated
There should be no change in our management structure and Sir Chris and Alan should be in charge this season and the one after which ever division we are in .
UTB

I’m chilled, I think that CW has been holding his cards close to his chest, I believe we will surprise and survive UTB

Fixed it for you.
Agree with it now.

As long as the team give 100% we can re- create the spirit of 1990 and everything will work out fine.
