Feck the leasehold where's the £7 million?

Is it time yet?

I hope there's a little meltdown, it's been a poor attempt if we were after four and our only signing is the lad from Motherwell in a position we're ok in.

I blame Wilders wage structure.

You lot can joke all you want about meltdown's etc, but anyone with half a football brain can see we are paper thin up top, and an injury to Mr Sharp would be disastrous.

Edit: Let's hope that the Giddings tweet brings better news

I can understand the frustration. We have had a very busy and productive transfer window and whilst we have made a very positive start, the shortcomings and limitations we've seen have been with the majority of the 10 newcomers already in the squad. The gaps we saw haven't really been addressed.

CCV is raw, but is he the answer at CB?
Donaldson has done it before but is older and more injury prone, is he the answer up front?

I can understand the frustration of some.
To talk of Lenihan, Coady and Leonard and to then get none of these over the line. To then move to unproven back up options, such as the Spam lad, Cole or Sinclair and then fail to get these over the line too...

...all leads to last minute feelings of disappointment despite a busy window where we have arguably improved the squad.

There's no arguably about it. Our squad is now stronger in every position. And Donaldson although probably not the player we would have liked, he has scored much, much more goals at this level than Clarke, Evans, Lavery or Hanson.

There are 2 ways of looking at it:

1. Wilder has chosen not to pay over what he feels the true value of his targets are.
2. The board have not provided a suitable level of backing.

Only time will tell on this one.

My own opinions are; that we didn't need another defender and we did need two pacey strikers. We also missed out on several of what seemed to be Wilder's pref'd choices: Holmes, Leonard, Coady, Leniehn all of which would have cost substantial transfer fees. The signings we have secured have been relatively low transfer fees. Again we can look at this in two ways.

I am still of the opinion that a couple of injuries in key positions and we will struggle and with no pace we will struggle to break the better teams down.

Will be interested to monitor Wilder's view between now and Jan window as that will give us an indication of what he expects in terms of backing in that window which will, in turn, give us an indication of how likely he is to be around next summer.
