I take your point but at the same time, you could argue that the only people willing to go to Fleetwood to see our second string play shit in a shit competition when we’re in shit form whilst playing at a shit level are the fans with the very highest shit thresholds. Due to their incredibly high shit threshold, they might not see the shit being served up for the shit that it really is?

Just a theory.
Isn't that just proof that in football, one can construct an argument for almost anything? That one could construct a viable argument that Fergie was a bit shit really, or that Brian Clough was hugely overrated.
It's actually turned into a business. You get the likes of Adrian Durham who is an expert on talking shite, in interpreting situations to find fault where there is very little, in using hyperbole to make trivial incidents sound more important than the assassination of JFK. And the biggest problem, in my opinion, is that a lot of people swallow his shit. They don't seem to understand he's the radio equivalent of a troll.

So you get these contrarians who just want to argue black is white, constructing these ridiculously contrived arguments in some attempt to demonstrate their intellectual superiority, other idiots agree with them and so they actually think they're right, that there's is the most valid opinion on a topic that, where football is concerned, is largely subjective anyway.

Or maybe they have an obsession with the club they love on a par with Barny/Ricky's obsession with Adkins?

I'd rather watch a match with those who go away all the time, bad shit threshold or not than some of the fuckwits who sit in the South Stand abusing the same players week in week out shouting " sort it out Adkins (nee Clough) when they can't tell the difference between Freeman and Harris.

For what it's worth I agree. I'm just making the point that if people are going to this kind of game, they are probably more willing to put up with disappointment after disappointment than those not willing thus explaining the position that those who can't bring themselves to go to that kind of game are probably those that are most pissed off.

It appears to be that you are fed up we are not pissing the league, fed up that we are even in this league so rather than support the team you go to great lengths to not only denigrate the management the players and the competition, but take it one step further in rubbishing the fans that actually go week in week out home and away to watch the team. I find that rather odd from a Blade.

Just a theory.

Thresholds!!! An individual thing.
I'd guess they are just as disappointed as the armchair critics. More so in fact because they've actually got of their arses and gone, as opposed to those who have their posts drafted out, well copied and pasted with the opponents name or current scapegoats name changed to suit the match,
Who get worked up listening to Keith Edwards. There can't be many who follow United all over the country who come out with a smile whistling a merry tune after another dismal performance. Very close to saying these are the actual fans who are to blame for McCabe still being there !!!

To be fair I think he's just asking the question. There are a few on here who don't hesitate to denigrate fans who go week in week out though. Calling others makes them feel better about themselves being pissed off because it's easier than doing something themselves

Wasn't having a go at those fans at all. Just saying that by being there for such a game, they are demonstrating greater patience than many. Their greater patience (or higher threshold, however you choose to look at it) perhaps leads them to see things in a more positive light. Not a criticism of those fans at all, just a thought. I applaud those fans. I'm struggling at the moment to be anything other than pissed off lately but doff my cap to those who can take positives and who are still willing to go to such lengths whilst being so badly let down.

I'm more fed up that our well paid players constantly fail because the less technically able opposition are more willing to work for the cause than our playboys. And I don't denigrate the manager at all. I actually defend the manager on here regularly and say he needs time to sort the mess out. But that doesn't change the fact that we are a mess at the moment. I hope Adkins can turn it round sooner rather than later. But I fear it might be next season when the deadwood can be moved on and he can look at building his own squad. I just hope he's not hounded out before then.

Fair reply 1DW. I am sure (well sort of) that the players try their best on the day. But I agree from 'word on the street' that some of the players not all, in training and their social life do not make the best of their talents (limited or otherwise). I think this is also a cause of concern from NA. I share the concern that if NA can't 'sort it out' then who can. NA appears to be an absolutely professional 'modern' manager in his approach to, players, training and the game, which is in stark contrast to that of Clough.

It seemed you were knocking the fans who travel, if that wasn't really your intention then fair enough.:)
