On Monday 19th August 2013, the Holmelea (Old Handsworth WMC) will once again play host to a Question and Answer session, this time with Blades boss David Weir.

The night is being hosted by Handsworth Blades Official Supporters Club and we'll be covering the event live for those unable to attend.

The evening is open to all members of the Supporters Club and memberships will also be taken on the night.

Doors will open at 7pm and it's intended that proceedings will begin at 7.30pm.
Entry is £1 on the door, which will go to the Help for Heroes charity.

Click here for more information on how you can follow live

Although it's members only, you can join the Handsworth Blades tonight for £3.

Can someone ask why we bring everyone back when the opposition get a corner?

All set up and providing the mobile data connection holds out we're good to go.

Excellent read thanks to everyone involved in putting it on. I do like Weir and believe we need to stick with him whatever happens this year. Glad to hear he is not going to get loads of loan players in. I still believe that is what got us relegated in the first place although that assumes the option to buy is open to him. We shall see on that. He should ban coloured boots though.

Thanks to Linz and Foxy for their efforts.

A few worrying comments from Weir on reflection.
He still doesn't know his best XI and wanted to give McGinty a game on Saturday? To learn more about him?

Sorry, that's what pre-season and the cup matches are for.
I think the wide-eyed "I'm new to this but learning all the time" spiel will start to wear thin if he keeps that up.
He needs to convey absolute conviction that he knows exactly what he's doing (even if he doesn't!)

I still think he needs to bring in an experienced old hand into his back room staff.
Maybe he'll add that to his unattainable wish list.

I'm more concerned by his singing from the mcCabe hymn sheet personally

Dave
Forget all this chatting to the fans and just buy some better strikers who are more likely to score. That will get us promoted.
Regards
Rudders

To be fair, it's difficult to get the context of what he's saying within the quick typing of trying to cover the questions and answers.

The impression he gave (which he has in the past) is that he considers pre-season and training to be important, but very different to 3pm on a Saturday for a league game.

I think he places a lot of importance with how players deal with the crowd, how they act in the real situation and for that reason and others wanted to give them an opportunity to show that they were up to it and how they could fit in.

I don't think it's realistic to be expecting the final product from him 3 games in.

Personally this enhances his personal integrity and I dont care what happens you cannot blame him for the mess we are in. In my mind he is trying to do things the right way, whether his master will let him is another problem entirely.

Yes, many thanks from here in New York too

Top effort again you two, pleasure to see you again and as mentioned above work that is appreciated for ones not fortunate enough to be able to be there in person.

Thanks for your efforts Foxy and Linz, There is no way I could attend these things so this is the only way I can follow whats happening

Agreed - what's the chances of arranging one in Leeds or nearby for all us West Yorkshire Blades?

Find a 100+ seater venue with PA system and think of a sensible night, and if you're willing to sort out the advertising and admin of tickets, I'll ask the club if they would provide the staff.

It was the Handsworth lads who arranged last night, the club just agreed to do it and turned up where and when they were told to :)

I will add my thanks. Also appreciate the way that you could get the Scottish accent in his answers:

".....eat right after the match rather than rushing to your car and going hoome." ;)

Lols... I certainly never try reading back what I've put, as I dread me having typed 90 minutes of gibberish on a keyboard I'm not used to!

Actually the standard is excellent (and I look at this sort of stuff every day!). That small one did make me smile, though!

It is terribly tempting to type "fitbae" and "dinnae" when he's speaking, I'm surprised none of those snuck through.

I'm also surprised it's not worse, as I'm used to a nice clacky keyboard at work but have to use Foxy's boss' work laptop at events ad it's ever so slightly more sensitive than I'm used to.

Is there anywhere a techno numpty can view some sort of transcript of last night?

Yes, thanks for all your work in covering these events.
