We have also seen that Sheffield United have offered 3.6M plus Ade Akinbiyi for McSheffrey. Again rumours but from a more reliable source
Found this on Unitedite, someone posted this on a Coventry board and apparently we've offered Akinbiyi plus cash for McSheffrey. £3.6 million is a bit too much regardless of offering Ade as well, but again, it's a rumour just like Mills/Hendrie/Boateng/Hasselbaink/Koumas was.

How is it too much? If jagielka is supposed to be worth 5 million then were getting Mcsheffry on the cheap when you compare the ability of both players.

I didnt mean that in a nasty way but its true. Jags is not a better player than Mcsheffry and if he is valued at 5 mill then were getting Sheffs on the cheap(If its true)

So yes, i do say so:)

£2.5mil for him is a decent price i reckon.

Has to be worth a punt on loan.

What about bringing Marcus Bent back to the lane? May aswell as that seems to be our answer to everything.

And McCall! Yet he made the best midfield I'v ever seen at the Lane tick.

An old head on loan up front might just be what we need for the odd important goal.

silverfox.... get ya boots!

When McShefferey burst onto the seen at Coventry he looked brilliant but he seems to have lost his way a bit.

Maybe worth a loan

Long term injury last season, no evidence that he's got over it yet or ever will do.

There are rumours down here that all was not as seemed to be with that injury.

Can`t say any more on here, PM me if you want the details.

please no, not marcus bent dont need arrogant twats like him, another example of someone who move onto bigger and better things but has done sweet fa,i would rather have shipps back at least he was a team player

Either way, a new striker debut would be lovely on Friday... often seems to go well.

And note, I said striker; less said about Lee Martin the better I feel.

What about Anthony Stokes, i seem to remember him being less than impressive last season

Quite true, but his debut wasn't against the pigs was it?

Didn't Lupoli score on his debut against them at the lane?

Yes it was. Debuts against Wednesday since 1980 are as follows:

L0-2

11/3/92 A: Bobby Davison, Alan Cork W3-1
21/4/93 A: Andy Scott D1-1
1/4/01 A: Darren Bullock W2-1
18/2/06 A: Neil Collins, Geoff Horsfield W2-1
19/1/08 A: Lee Martin L0-2
19/10/08 A: Anthony Stokes L0-1
7/2/09 H: Arturo Lupoli L1-2

According to the Brummy Mail;

Not sure he's what we need, certainly the 'recovering from injury' version anyway.

Jury has to be out on this one I'm afraid. 3 years ago I would have been very excited at his signing but he seems to have slipped way down the pecking order at brum and more worryingly seems to be injury prone.

Positively though, its a loan so no harm done and he could just be a player who needs a new start at a new club. Fingers crossed.

He's a wide player and an inury prone one at that. We now have plenty of good widemen.

If you want someone who can play as a striker how about.........a striker?
