Marc's father said on Twitter when he signed for Pompey that the loan was meant to be til the end of the season. He quickly deleted the tweet apparently so maybe an extension will happen?

Lets get him back. Until the suspension, looked like Adams would be partnering Billy up front, but, to be honest would rather it be McNuts if Matty is not fit. Adams has a lot of work to do, yesterday he was garbage. Sorry Pompey, but we've had rug pulled from under us with loans in the past, think Spurs, Naughton and Walker, never forgave melted wellington face for that.

yes that was widely mentioned on here but if we are in our rights to recall him then we should and bollocks to his daddy.

I've heard Adkins say in a press interview he has a couple of years left on his contract

Sounds like he has made up his mind, I don't understand Adkins view on this, if he isn't going to play him, let the lad go to a place where he is clearly enjoying his football.

Hooray!

Anyone know if we have an option to recall him? or if we're receiving a loan fee?

I'd sooner have Sparky than Sammon here.

Think he's too similar to Sharp in the way he plays, but that would also make him an ideal back up for Billy in what will be a long season for Sharp. If the first half is anything to go by then Billy will be battered and bruised come May.

I also think that whilst mcNulty is still learning his trade, he's a better finisher than Billy.

Think we've missed a trick here, but i get the impression its a decision taken by the committee above Adkins. They complained that Clough didn't buy a big striker last season (as stated by Phipps) and so they'd look pretty daft if they kept McNults and sent Sammon back.

Here's to the committee

Can't say I'm too concerned by this. League 2 standard is poorer overall, and this is a team in which Doyle and Davies are key parts. Scoring goals at that level should be the least anyone would have expected of him, or indeed anyone that's back-up in League 1. We don't need McNulty back right now – we need a centre-half, a midfielder, and once those are sorted, a better strike-partner for Sharp that complements our style of play.

Agree although I'd be more comfortable if there is a recall option in case of injury to Sharp.

There won't be if it's not an emergency loan presumably. I'm interested to know if in the event Pompey aren't in the playoffs and we are whether his loan will have officially ended.

I think the problem with McNulty Swiss is he is a disruptive influence and we have bombed him out (Adkins has),to let a striker go who
can and will score double figures in a season is rare by any standard and we arnt that we'll off for strikers to let one go (even if he is like Sharpy) now.
Some posters did say he was disruptive (arsole) and any player in a squad with an attitude is no good for team spirit it wasn't long before Adkins got rid so disruptive he must be.Disappointing in some respects as he is a good finisher but for Adkins to get him out so quickly shows there was a problem or it could be his Scottish pals allied to his father's abuse of the club (twitter) that made his position untenable.
We do need another striker maybe one will come in later this month.
Could be we promote one of the young lads from under 21s we have some quality there also Dom Calvert Lewin is on loan at Northampton and youth loans can be terminated at certain times by the parent club ,we have got to be looking at him to see if he can do us a job.

Good point, i think it might be a bit of both in fairness

I've said this before, starting the season with a partnership of Done and McNulty as first choice would have been more than enough for the attacking side of things. I was always hopeful of Adams being able to chip in with a few goals as well, and it looks as though he has and is going to. Emphasis just had to be on defence. Absolute stupidity we still haven't managed to plug that ginormous gap.

Sammon and Sharp were ill thought out and unnecessary crowd pleasers on the sort of wages they definitely don't deserve. To be fully expected though with our excellent negotiation ability. The same ability that thinks players have to leave whenever they so desire, despite being under contract and all other evidence being to the contrary.
