Good profile / interview. The Star could take some tips from that Edinburgh paper.

Good article that. I recon we might see a bit more game time for McNulty second half of the season.

He seems to have kept his head down and is doing more of what Clough wants him to.

Fair play to the lad aswell because despite his frustration he's worked hard, said the right things and adapted well and never moaned. Cracking attitude.

Good read.
Glad to hear he's so positive about his role at BDTBL.

Let's hope he cements that place in our starting line up!

Hes turned out to be our best buy this season.

Apart from getting his jaw smashed in hes took his chances when hes got the nod.

Nice comments from clough after the game. Said he thought McNulty had played with a lot of maturity and was doing what they'd worked on. Many people have criticised cloughs public handling of McNulty but it seems that McNulty is learning and listening to the coaching at United. Credit to McNulty and also the coaching staff.

McNulty isn't blessed with ooodles of pace but is sharp, makes space for himself and makes intelligent runs.... But this is all a sideshow for his finishing. Probably a better finisher than ched and that's high praise from me

Our cup juggernaut. I rather like that description. Let's hope it charges into and over Tottingham.

Agree SwissBlade, as desirable as pace is, another quality that often goes unnoticed is guile, something that McNulty has in spades. His quickness of thinking gives him those precious seconds, time enough to consider his options and take advantage of whatever opportunities come his way. We've got a special player in MM, well done Clough for bringing him to the Blades.

Did we ever hear the outcome of the incident where he was injured in Edinburgh? I think we are lucky, knowing Clough's strict managing system that we still have him. He could possibly gone the way of Butler.

There was reason to believe it was a case of being unlucky and that he wasn't the intended recipient. I think the main annoyance in this case was that he'd allowed it to happen, rather than it being his fault.

Interesting stat taken from poster on BM:

"Started 11 matches and our record is 9 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss.

Also worth noting that our last home league win before Preston was Yeovil (also the previous time we scored 2 in a league match) and that was also McNulty's last start in a league match before yesterday."

So in conclusion, he just needs to start remaining 23 games and we're up :D

My sources tell me McNuts is a cocky so and so, which is a great trait for a goal scorer. There are less kind descriptions too. :)

Point being, Clough has needed to channel his arrogance and broaden his contribution to the team whilst not reining him in too far. Yesterday's all round performance was his best in the league and suggests there's method in the madness.

He did plenty for 90 minutes yesterday, as he must do when we play one striker. He's miles ahead of our other options on that effort.
sorry but the point i was making was perhaps a little bit of a tangent
unlike clough i don't mind if he does FA all game and keeps scoring
i wasn't there btw

In fairness to him, part of his game (perhaps instilled by clough) is to work his McNults off. His hold up play allows the midfield something of a breather if nothing else

Aren't we unbeaten with Tel Kennedy too (apart from his debut)?

We need to keep the both of them fit for the Spurs game, and the stats will win it for us..

Thought I'd highlight this article from the star:

Mr Clough comes in for a bit of stick on this forum for his public comments about McNultys performances, but just like the negative comments get discussed, the positives should too. Personally I thought McNulty came into the game at a tough time as we were on the back foot a lot. he put himself about, often challenging but not winning the balls in the air, but he chased their defenders down, battled and did his bit, if nothing else he gave another option and on the goal he was involved in the initial build up down the right having a shot himself.

I hope he watches Done a lot more as the runs he makes are what I've said before which is missing from McNulty's game, anticipation and giving the man crossing the ball that option. I think 3 of Dones goals have come from him making that diagonal run to the middle of the six yard box/ front post. I don't want him making the same runs when Done is on, but when Done isn't playing, McNulty needs to take the responsibility to make those runs. Good thing was that had Done missed the chance, McNulty was on the back post ready.

The Wed***day Star could take some tips from just about ANY other example of reporting !! Their current offering of biased, inaccurate, opinionated garbage renders themselves less credible than the Daily Star !!
