Sure Bradders - but the chase for a new manager is equally farcical
Indeed, "it's a joke" because it's not - you have to laugh, otherwise you'd cry :confused:o_O

We are a laughing stock now - it's beginning to get really embarrassing being a Blade; and here in Bradford - with the success of City - it's just rubbing salt into the wounds, at least for me :(

UTB!

...It is also imperative that whoever we pick is allowed to bring their own staff if we are to get the fresh start we need. I suspect this may be the biggest sticking point in making an appointment.
What I've started to suspect too 59...

So it's Southgate or Jacket for me, but it'll be Morgan...won't it??????

UTB!

Sadly this is what happens when you sack a manager with no plan in place as to how to replace him. McCabe sacked Wilson on a whim with the hope that Morgan would either manage to gee the side up sufficient to get us up which would make us attractive to a decent manager to come in next season or, at least show a significant improvement to justify giving him the permanent position in league 1. Unfortunately neither of these happened.

With Robinson and McCall apparently turning us down it seems clear we are not at this time an attractive proposition for managers currently in employment to further their career. We therefore need to look at the best options from those managers currently out of work. It is also imperative that whoever we pick is allowed to bring their own staff if we are to get the fresh start we need. I suspect this may be the biggest sticking point in making an appointment.

This!

If what I hear is right this is the main issue that McCall had. He was told 'no' to Kenny Black et al coming. It may have been the same with Robinson. It seems the board are insisting on anyone coming in sticking with existing staff, probably due to finance. In the McCall situation we would pay compensation for him, Black and any other staff that were coming and then pay off Morgan and any others being replaced. Too much deemed the board.

Does begger the question, who would accept it? Most managers have at least a trusted assistant they want to work with. It rules out many for me, including Jackett, possibly Southgate and maybe even Arnold.

He hasn't been mentioned for a while, but Warnock is the manager who would take is out of this division (at the right end!). Possibly with Morgan as his number two. Past issues between McCabe and Warnock could prevent this happening, but surely the needs of the club and fans are more important than this. Otherwise we risk appointing a manager from an increasingly shortlist of second raters, with all having no track record of winning promotion.

Robinson - he say no, McCall - he say no. We're left with Morgan and Hoofroyd - me say no. As for Downes - well that's where we'll be if he came. 51 year old Kenny Jackett - well he doesn't fit McCabes young and 21st century manager, not that he'd want to come anyway.

It's starting to get embarrassing.

Since McCabe is supposedly subsidising the club to the tune of one million pounds per month, how can the issue of paying compensation of a much lesser figure be a sticking point in acquiring a decent manager? Particularly when, the appointment of the right manager is crucial to the clubs on field improvement and the associated financial independence ?

nobody could get us promoted. jose mourinho would struggle to get us to the play offs next season with mccabe pulling the strings. apart from the fact kev hates colin, he would be mental to come back at his age. no money, no players, mccabe waiting to fire him for not winning every game with all these no players.
