McCall & Morgan 'dream team'?

No actually. I hate the idea of anyone with a Blades connection taking on the manager's role. I want to see a complete change but it's not going to happen anytime soon.
Agreed Menjo, this is what's frustrating me too - my personal preference would be Southgate, with Robinson as a close 2nd, but I can dream - and the McCall/Morgan team only gives me nightmares

UTB!

not been here for a week and we STILL haven't got a new manager??

I doubt we will until late next week, so you'll have to be a bit more patient :)

The long wait would suggest when talks finally boil down to money on the table all the candidates so far have told McCabe to stuff the job up his arse. Longer it goes on the more it looks like no one wants it other than Morgan :(:(:(

Let's face it guys who in their right mind would come to manage The Blades
Currently we're a right Rag, Tag and Bobtail club with sh!te players with long contracts, a board of directors I wouldn't put in charge of a Tea Club and an owner who has lost interest along with his money through his own incompetence, mismanagement and crap appointments!

And probably why Morgan will get the job, By default.

How do you work that one out then,MB ? The long wait (and it is not the end of May yet) could mean we are actually trying to find the right person.

Apart from McCall and Morgan no one knows who has been interviewed and in all cases,we have no idea who has been offered the job,if anyone.(despite what the so called in the knowers claim on Blades Mad). I was speaking to someone reasonably high up at the Lane on Thursday and he says only 5 people know what is going on to ensure nothing is leaked and this means even he is out of the loop.

We won't be paying the highest money in the League(i assume the 3 relegated will have the highest manager salaries) and we probably can't afford much compensation. However, the fact that Motherwell have confirmed we made an approach for their manager would imply we aren't trying to do this on the cheap

We sacked Wilson on 10th of April over six weeks ago and before Sir Alex decided to call it a day, Man U soon got their man in place yet we are still looking for the right man. Why does that not surprise me ??? maybe because McCabe would have trouble finding his cock on a dark night ???

We could make an approach for Sir Alex offering ten bob compensation. Do you have any idea of how much we have offered Motherwell and what sort of figure would imply "not cheap" £5 , £10 ??? the simply answer is we can approach anyone don't mean to say we will have a chance of getting them or that the approach is nothing more than to appease fans in much the same way we offered a few hundred K for that player on deadline day knowing full well he was rated at above a million.

Yes we sacked Wilson 6 weeks ago and put someone else in temporary charge. You really think we are going to approach another team's manager whilst there is just a few games to go in the season? Do you honestly think any chairman would give a manager who has a reasonable length on his contract permission to speak to another club before the season is ended especially if they valued their manager ?

Moyes was out of contract and his reluctance to even discuss a new contract all season would suggest he has known for a while the Man Utd job was his and probably kn w months before everyone else that Fergy was retiring.

Common sense would suggest that with Motherwell having agreed for us to talk to McCall would suggest compensation has been agreed or they would not have given us permission. Again we don't know what that compo is but with 2/3 years left on a newish contract,i would have thought it would be a significant amount for a League one club

What we don't know (and will never know)is the salary we are offering or the 'strings attached' to the job which may put candidates off.

At the moment I am not overly concerned just yet and I am glad we appear to be looking at all possible options but if a decision isn't made by the end of next week it will become a concerneas it would suggest the job is too tough for the applicants who don't want to take the risk .

Oddschecker on twitter says he's not coming as talks have broken down.

It would seem talks broke down with Robinson last week too, he went from bookies favourite to zero very fast .............. must be something making the job highly toxic.

We didn't interview Robinson,we only spoke to his agent

For all the critisism of the board got to say thanks for trying to get McCall.

Lets hope the next person offered the post is as good.

I'm not convinced he was offered the job. He certainly doesn't say he was. He may have taken his hat out of the ring, but that doesn't mean the job was his. I had niggling doubts about him and I'm pleased he hasn't been appointed. I may regret saying this when we do make an appointment!
