I know the gist of this thread has been discussed before but I'll put the scenario back on the table.

1. If United go up this season (are they going to Lourdes for a pre-play off training session?) he'll stick with it.

2. If they don't go up I suspect behind the scenes discussions to see how he will get his investment back. As the stadium is out of the club's hands I expect an administration route tbh.

3. The club is going nowhere with this endless cycle of crap managers, promise of youth, don't pursue that policy but the odd ones who turn up get sold and your star striker always gets sold in January and it leads to a continual downward spiral. It is now highly probable we will end up in a lower leagure position than the previous season for the fourth year running. The last time this happened were the four seasons 1996/7 -1999/00.

4. I think McCabe may well start discussions with Wednesday to build a joint stadium maybe 50k capacity. Nothing will happen till the economy perks up in terms of bricks and mortar but I would expect a site to be found and planning permission sought. He will then sell BL for redevelopment.

5. If the two teams one stadium doesn't work he will then seek to merge United and Wednesday, selling his FC shares as part of the deal. As we will have already gone into administration I expect that the 'new debt' will be considerably less than the present one. No doubt a new McCabe company will buy 'SUFC 2014 Ltd' shares so he has something to sell when the two club merger is discussed in around 10-15 years time.

Point 1 is the only option. Everything pins on it. Nothing else matters. If point 1 fails, SUFC fails and we need a step-change at the Club, and that includes KM leaving for good.

We'll never leave BDTBL or merge with Wednesday, this comes up now and then, when one club is desperate and the other club slightly less desperate. Neither club can afford to maintain their poor status, I can't see either club finding £50M-£100M to build a underused stadium somewhere. Neither club will want a merger, it is publically unacceptable and AFC Blades and AFC Owls will be formed, playing at BDTBL and Hillsborough respectively, while SuperMax Sheffield FC play at Bland Bowl Arena in front of 350 fans.
