Sheffield United plc chairman Kevin McCabe could step down in the summer.
McCabe told BBC Radio Sheffield that other commitments limit the amount of time he can devote to the role.

He said: "The chairman should be local and accessible to supporters, functions and events in the city and I can't be in Sheffield as much as I'd want.

dont think he will step down unless abid comes in i think he wants the club to do well as much as anyone else connected to the club

Might be a signal to the prospective buyers out there to 'Come and get it'

We are now top of the tree for take-over especially by the foreigners!!

surely not wouldnt they rather take over newcastle liverpool or arsenal who have huge fan bases so they get thier money returned quicker

think its more likely that one of the Mccabe family or a trusted friend/business contact will step into the "position" to be honest.

Liverpool seem set for takeover, as do newcastle it seems by recent reports.

Arsenal have a big debt with the stadium, which the new backer would have to takeover.

Sheffield United are ripe for picking, potential fan base, decent squad already. very minimal debt.
