According to national newspaper 'the Mirror' Sheffield United will today snub the Premier League by refusing to hand over their card at today's AGM.

Clubs relegated from the Premier League hand over their membership card to newly promoted card -thus giving them Premier League status, however Sheffield United chairman Kevin McCabe plans to spread chaos through the Premier League by refusing to hand the Blades card over.

Im sure that will do our case the world of good.

Just give it em back.

let em av it.

It'll just give the nonces even more reason to winge bout us.

must admit though i do like his style

That's just childish. If he's so confident of us having a case against the PL for being reinstated, he should start acting with dignity and await the supposedly inevitable from the arbitration process so that he can say 'I told you so'.

I hope we're not going to end up as disliked as teams like Leicester, West Ham and Leeds for this.

It needs to end this, whatever the wrong against us the establishment aren't going to give in to us, we were stitched up, life is sometimes like that, not fair, we need to move.

'Revenge is a meal best eaten cold' and we should concentrate on promotion and showing them on the field.

We were relegated ultimatly because of some awful away performances and an inability to score enough goals.

Can't imagine this will be a popular post, but I am bored of it all sorry.

I agree, dingledog. It's starting to detract from everything else that we should be proud of about the club. The PL have agreed to the arbitration process, the club should let it be until such time as something comes out of the process. And yes, having seen the way we played against Wigan we did deserve relegation, whether West Ham broke the rules or not. I'd hate to stay in the PL due to political or legal pressure, as that would make us a source of derision to all other clubs and their fans.

whilst at face value it may seem like petty foot stamping... it'll actually send a very effective message to the league.

The PL seem to think that if they ignore us/tell us were doomed to fail then we'll disapeer like they want us to.

Providing the rest of the club is effectively running the way it should, I think we should continue to fight it on all fronts until a positive outcome.

The fact that now Fulham have thrown their hat into the ring is very encouraging, it shows officially that we have backing, handy them being a London team too.

agree 100%.we need to get on with preparing for next season.

Thing is, i'm sure not having McCabe & his lawyers going through the pre-season drills won't really affect the performances that much ;)

Providing the goings on aren't hindering the usual processes, then I don't see the problem.

Blades warned over share row

Blades warned over share row
By Tom Adams - Created on 26 May 2007

The Premier League has warned Sheffield United they will be forced to surrender their share in the League if The Blades fail to release it voluntarily.

United have decided to continue their protest at their controversial relegation by refusing to relinquish their share of the League.

The Blades' grievances stem from the failure to impose a points deduction on West Ham despite irregularities in the signings of Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano, with an arbitration tribunal set to examine the case at United's behest.

Now the Yorkshire club have been told that if they continue to withhold their share, they will lose it anyway at the Premier League's AGM.

"If Sheffield United do not return the share, Premier League rules mean that it will be unilaterally transferred to a promoted club and this will happen at our AGM this coming Thursday," said a Premier League spokesman.

United plc chairman Kevin McCabe (pictured) has threatened to take legal action should the club not be restored to the Premiership next season.

Flippin heck why not just hand it over.

If any justice comes from the legal action then we maybe lucky enough to get it back.

Keeping it will do us no favours at all.

Flippin heck why not just hand it over.

Make your mind up whether you want us to press the Premier League or not.

It is making a point... a clear one.

The Blades are saying that no decision should be make about league status until the arbitration panel has made their verdict... which is fair enough.

If they do hand the share over, the Premier League can point to the fact that it's been transferred as a reason not to reinstate a club because it would cause too many administrative difficulties. It's almost saying that our fate is already decided.

They can take the share anyway... so the Blades are just not doing it willingly and satisfying their "ceremonial" gesture.

if we get promoted next season.. will they let us back in :p

I think we have to separate the legal battle from the preparation for the team. Lawyers take time, that's how they make their money. If we loose on a technicality then at least we know. Doesn't change much but I doubt we will see anybody conclude it was the right decision, just that they had the right to make a stupid decision.

Well they will take it anyway and i doubt there gonna re instate us.

send it back in bits :D

You know what's most amusing ?

Dave Whelan started all this. He wound your chairman up, sat back and watched with delight as your chairman has made a bit of an idiot of himself.
I'm not sure who's worse, your chairman for kicking, crying and throwing his toys around the room. Or Wigans, for being like the 'orrible little kid in school who starts a fight, then hides behind his mates. If I was the PL, I'd refuse your club the parachute payments for the way you have been acting, and for some of the slander that has been spouted through all this. Although the Spammers chairman has remaind quiet, don't be suprised if he's just biding his time. After all, it's the quiet ones you need to watch, not the mouthey ones, or the ones who start fights and move away.

Oh dear look who's back trying to bait us all. Do you think anyone's going to sit back quietly in the face of blatant incompetence by the Premier League? That's the trouble with the game these days' nobody's got the balls to stand up to them apart from McCabe and he has every right to be angry.

Whelan is still involved even more so than our chairman. Only like a week later after the last game of the season he sat down with scudamore and called for him to resign. Unfortunatly for the Prem League they dont expect clubs to stand up to them so they think they can do what they like and get away with it. As for the Biscuit man obviously he will keep his mouth shut for his own good.

i dont think mcCabe has made an idiot of himself i think he's the only one out of all the clubs who has the balls to carry this through

Paul aldridge was on ssn apparently saying that he had sat down with scudamore before we even had this independant panel decision and was asking to keep certain things under wraps

And Aldridge said he had to speak out as he was fed up with scudamore as he had stabbed him in the back

Since found out he is the former chief Executive of west ham he is seeing his lawyers according to the mirror and this could be curtains for scudamore and west ham and great for us.

Says in the star tonight that the legal battle could take upto 2 years...

Obviously a massive breakthrough on your part, funny how the first I've heard of it is on a Blades forum though. I would of thought if it was that serious it would of recieved a bit more coverage, especially considering the usual crap the media have been regurgitating.

If Aldridge was the former Cheif Exec, wouldn't he be largely responsible for the rule break? Along with Terrence Brown.

How was he stabbed in the back by Scudamore then ?

All this is something that has completely passed me by.

Christ McCabe, just drop the whole bloody thing. We will be in the championship next season.

Its OUR fault we went down, nobody else's.

Lets get over it and move on.
