Given that it was a public phone-in, did lenners take advantage of this to ring up and put his points across to the one man who matters and can do something? Or has he run out of credit, both metaphorically and literally?

He said he'd got a text message from RDM but that he hadn't been in touch with him. Made me wonder if he was actually going to get in touch at all. I'd like to be proven wrong here.
 
Thats how bookies work the odds out - at first its an educated guess but theyre not ITK, its just betting patterns when it comes to next managers.

Considering JP is as good as ruled out, Di Mattero seems the best option

Where did RDM get his mobile number from and is he sure that it really was RDM if he hasn't spoken to him?

Doesn;t have the experience. COuld be a smokescreen but there was no endorsement when he was brought up
 

To be honest I'd pembo to remain as Academy manager for now anyways. Matteo would be the best manager available.

I doubt he'd have sacked Adams if he hadn't first got an indication of who else might be interested
 
Hughton was my preferred choice in January. He or Di Matteo would be decent I reckon - the fact they've both been named when we went to great efforts not to confirm or deny any names in January may mean they aren't serious candidates. On the otherhand they are unemployed, which is probably a requirement this time round.
 
If K.M. as any sense , he will have asked Di-Mat to come to the youth cup final , however Di-Mat may have texed back " no " i am waiting for a massive job when Smegmarson gets sacked .
 
I do have to agree with the Hamilton Ricard analagy. Thought it was a typical McCabe performance last night, very nice, but no real pressure. Saying he has had a text message from Di Matteo is probably just more spin to placate people in the short term, at no point did he say he was a prime candidate. Also is that the way professional football people apply for jobs now?

I thought one of the key moments when Kevin nearly tripped up was when asked about scouting and started to stutter a bit, before mentioning a scouts name, only for Seth to say "but he has left the club" So McCabe was either lying or does not know who works for the club anymore. But it strikes me that we have very little in the way of quality scouting anymore.

I would be delighted if RDM was our next manager, and would certainly look at McCabe in a new light, but as an ex clapper I will take some convincing at the moment, we have been fed too much spin and rubbish over the last few years. The insistance last night that the Kyles had thier heads turned by premiership money is a line. I have it on good authority that KW did not want to leave the club. As a fan I would be far happier if the club were honest and just said, we couldn't turn down 10 million pounds.

Verdict easy ride, and as for Brian the Blade, he is now offically renamed Brian the Sycophant!!

I'd love to believe this is true, but to me this sounds like a tactic to get an easy ride from the fans in the short term, today's headline being tomorrow's chip paper.
