I was under the impression that further investment would come from other investors as well as our two owners.

Plus of course, we get an increased revenue to add to whatever extra funds the owners decide to put in to cover losses, and future player investment.

So, London would be a good place to hold that meeting as they wouldn't look obvious down there as they would near Sheffield. As others said, members of the Saudi royal family simply can't just hang about where thousands of unchecked folk will be wandering about constantly.
I hope the meeting was constructive.

If only there were telephones, all these journeys back and forth to London could be avoided.

Er, we weren't up until 8/4. Any January plans could only ever be provisional.

Of course preliminary planning can be done but I'd hope that as the Prince isn't a regular attender, Sunday's big occassion may have surprised him. If the emotion of the day got to him and he actually understands what he has bought into, then hopefully he will go back for another rummage down the sofa.

I'm not expecting the 'game changing investment' but I think we will add 4 or 5 and a couple will be in the £1m - £2m bracket. This is my just gut instinct and nothing more.

By Jan there was only 2 possible outcomes all clubs plan for both possible outcomes. In Jan clubs can approach out of contract players. Wilder has stated since Jan he is already planning for next season.hard to plan without an outlying budget. My opinion is that any meeting would be about increasing any pre agreed budget.. since the initial agreement which i imagine will have been sorted In jan. (As clubs start planning the next window once the current ones shuts) I think Wilder will have done more than enough to impress them with his management of funds. And therefore are happy to increase his budget. That is my take anyway.

in business you plan a minimum of 5 years ahead in terms of budget - and you set scenario's such as, "what if....we are in the Championship" so all that should be nicely agreed and in a little folder somewhere all signed off.

5 year plans are constantly revised though, cloths are cut accordingly and new plans are made. If McCabe was still sticking to his 5 year plan from 5 years ago we'd have bought a squad of players fit for the Champions League this year, whilst it's nice to dream budgets, forecasts, re-forecasts etc are used in most if not all business and have to be amended frequently to keep up with the multitude of factors that can impact the business.

I also noticed on Calendar last night that Wilder made a point of saying that the owners keep out of the way and let them get on with it.
Thats the Ched theory put to bed then.
