The last 2 seasons have been an absolute write off for him due to injuries covid etc… which is a fair criticism not all his own doing. You wouldn’t blame JOC for the last 2/3 season not doing much would you

He is in the last chance saloon for his blades career imo the season we finished 9th he was every bit a £20 million striker hence wolves wanting to buy him

I remember some good goals in the Premiership and now that he is getting fit and has scored a goal I just hope that he goes on to prove many wrong as well as helping us to succeed.

Whilst it is very much Jam tomorrow and excuses, it doesn’t stop them being true.

A decent enough first season
Collectively shite second season
Injury hit & shite third season

It’s often overlooked that players arent in fact robots and how important being FULLY match fit is, also the impact mentally of injuries etc

We’ve seen this with Berge. Who once fully fit, consistently playing a team with more confidence and in in a system/position which suits, looks a completely different player. We saw this with Brewster just before his injury. We saw this with Lowe at Forest. We saw this with Robinson. We saw this with Wes.

All these caveats don’t mean McBurnie will be successful, but assuming he gets back to fitness I’m hopeful, not expectant, of seeing a different player.

1. He's had one good spell in his, albeit short career and that was during his time at Swansea which included a lot an at Barnsley!
2. Joint top scorer, with Mousset, with a paltry 6 fucking goals. That's a Total of 7 goals in 87 appearances since 2019, or 8 goals if you add the one scored last night!
3. The only hope he or we have got is that he finally pulls his finger out and miraculously remembers how to be a footballer. But this will only be in order to get a contract elsewhere!
