The way people were going off about him messing up controlling the ball and how goofy and lucky he was with the pass I was expecting something very different when I watched the highlights.

He was running and had to stop dead to receive the ball as it wasn't in front of him, then to pull that pass off from that position was great.

ow does he know so many opposition players? Running joke where we sit that when he’s warning up during every game he knows one or two and just has a chin wag.

I've noticed this too, they warm up right in front of us and there was one game, I forget which now, when he was laughing and joking with an opposition sub when they scored, and he never once stopped joking with him. I try not to get involved with slagging players off, but this really colours my opinion of him 😡

He didn't do a Jebbison.

What agenda, I said I don’t think he is a good player, I don’t think he has been a success here. But what agenda do I have, I can’t influence wether he stays next season or goes. It is an opinion I have, or is that not allowed in your little world.

I think it's the fact that what you said about McBurnie's pass was so obviously incorrect that the only reasonable explanation is that you have some sort of agenda against him.

In your view it was incorrect, in my view he was lucky. Matter of opinions. But I cannot see why that is an agenda against him. I want him to do well for us, so far he hasn’t.

What was lucky about it? As someone else has said he had to stop dead because the ball into him wasn't a good one, he looked up and saw MGW's run and quite obviously meant to play the ball into him. The 'agenda' comes into it because I think it's unlikely that you call it lucky if any other player plays that pass.

The argument that he hasn't been good for us so far, I assume you're not counting his first season in that?

Now you are a mind reader, if that had happened to any other player I would have said the same. Watch it again, he mis controlled the ball first, witch caused the ball to bobble in between his legs, and then he just wanted to get rid of it. First season he scored 6 goals, and that from a 20 million pound striker. What has happened in seasons two and three. Wish he had lived up-to his billing, but he hasn’t. No agenda from me but he has not lived up-to expectations.

I've watched it several times, even in slow motion.

It was played behind him and he had to check his run to ensure he didn't run past the ball. He didn't mis-control it, he actually did really well to get it into a position where he could look up and play it into MGW's run. The suggestion that he just wanted to get rid of it is laughable. You're seeing exactly what you want to see.

Ditto, so are you

It happened exactly as I said it, the ball was played in behind him, he had to check his run meaning that his first touch was a difficult one. He then played a very good ball into MGW. Your assessment of "he just wanted to get rid of it" is something that you absolutely cannot confirm, there's no way of knowing whether that is true or not.

The biggest frustration about McBurnie for me is that he can come up with something great, like the pass that he managed to dig out for MGW or his equaliser against Man Utd but the fact that I've gone that far back sums up the lack of impact he's had and how few and far between the good moments are.

He needs a simple game to play that is easy for him to do and adapt to. Chris Basham was like bambi on ice until Wilder gave him a role to fulfil and McBurnie needs something similar where he's told "just do x, y and z."

There are people who slag him to death and others who leap to his defence but one thing is for sure is that he can't be considered a success and the same can be said of all Wilder's big money signings.

And you have no way that you “ absolutely cannot confirm “😂 that it was just a lucky pass. It’s about opinions, you have yours and I have mine. Nothing against Mcburnie just do not think he has done well for us in 3 years.

Apart from when he was joint top scorer in our best season in 30 years
Who was he joint top scorer with? 👀

I’ve not seen the same level of support for this individual, despite playing less since and scoring more.

Agree with this. First request, please stop falling over every time someone touches you. Do that and we’ll be making progress.

You are correct, I can’t confirm that. But the fact that he looked up and the run from MGW tells me there was some intention there. That was only one part of the incident though, the rest of what you said when you claimed he was lucky was demonstrably untrue.

Which bit of “I’ve been wank” are you non believers not believing ?

Asking for a friend.

Agenda.

And what is the Agenda, I thought we had discussed yesterday. You seem to know my thoughts so tell me what the agenda is, because I have no idea. I gave my view that he was lucky with the pass that led to MGW goal. And know I have an agenda. Pathetic

It is quite clearly not lucky. The pass was right under his feet and he adjusted extremely well.

Someone in the thread (not you) said he stood on the ball, he didn't. Someone said he did his best to fall over it, he didn't, he adjusted to make sure he could control a bad ball played to him.

His assist was very good and I'm sure if the passage of play was the other way around, people would be saying how shit McBurnies pass was and how skilful MGW was to adjust 🤷‍♂️

Great improvisation. Credit wheres it's due.

Have to admit, did surprisingly well for the assist Saturday.

That's part of the issue with McBurnie: he clearly has the technique when he wants to but it's the lack of consistency and poor decision making which really frustrates me. He will always appear to have the limb control of a newborn foal because he weighs about 10 stone at 6'2" but it's up to him to turn that unpredictability into an asset.
