That people are still trying to defend him. First touch is like a trampoline and couldn't hit sand if he fell off a camel. That little run across midfield second half when he trod on the ball, kicked his own ankles and stumbled it out for a throw in was class. Some great defensive headers though. His chance at the end of the first half was difficult, his 3 free headers from crosses second half weren't on target. That's why he never scores. That said he was our 4th worst player tonight. It’s embarrassing

I forgot how to spell bhajiOr the G ?
He needs to get in his back garden and just practice kicking a football because he just can't seem to fucking do it, his technique is abysmal
Most of the conversations I heard on the way out were about his inadequacies as a footballer, not our worst player tonight but he wasn’t very good. Billy would have scored if he’d have been on for 90 mins.
You’re being silly now and your hatred of a club legend is getting in the way of your normally extremely rational mind. McBurnie has got Billy Sharp wallpaper.Would he really have ? Cause he didn’t touch the ball for 25 minutes when he came on fuck me
Should have given Jebbinson a run otherwise why bother with him
What mark would you give Mcburnie tonight Drunk blade

He tried to get in between their cart horse defenders twice more than anyone else did all game. You despise him, you’ve got a Billy voodoo doll.I don’t hate Sharp it just makes me laugh how he can do no wrong under anyones eyes ever at all
He’s been top drawer the last 4/5 games
He was poor when he came on and barely got involved in anything so to say he would have scored when he didn’t touch the ball in 25 mins is for the birds
His favourite ever striker is David HirstHe tried to get in between their cart horse defenders twice more than anyone else did all game. You despise him, you’ve got a Billy voodoo doll.
He was and is wank. I have seen 14 year olds shoot harder than him. His falling about is embarrassing - his 1 pace trolling about is infuriating- please just give up on him - give him away. Donny Rovers is a better fit than us- please.Building up his minutes and fitness. Getting on the ball and starting to get chances. I think it was Lester who said earlier in the season as a striker you have to keep going for chances and the goals will come. It was said in relation to Brewster but McBurnie is at this point now.
Today at best can be summed up as he was ok, and at worst he was ok. Anyone saying he was wank have already made their minds up regardless of what he does.
Also as far as I'm aware the fee would be nowhere near 20 mill without certain add ons. So he's wank and always has been and he cost us 20 million pounds are two contradictory statements.

Absolutely outstanding tonight, best player on the pitch by a distance.
And I’d also say if McBurnie was played through 1v1 in the second half instead of Ndiaye, who couldn’t finish his fucking breakfast, it’ll have been 3 easy points.
Golden opportunitiesMcBurnie plays we draw two blanks because he missed golden opportunities. Please don’t start him on Saturday
It already has.Yep...the usual excuse for a striker who cant hit a cows arse with frying pan.Starting with him up front will cost us a play off place.

What is it with these threads. Zero balanced discussions. The pro McBurnie camp defending him at all costs. Anyone who dares to criticise aspects of his game is castigated. On the anti McBurnie side he is total crap get rid. Somewhere in the middle ground is likely to be more accurate. But it looks like there are too many egos getting in the way of a decent discussion.
I only bring stats to this argument. His shot accuracy was 33%. He lost 77% of his ground duels and 55% of his aerial duels. He lost the most duels of anyone on the pitch. [FotMob]. He is also the player who gives the ball away the most- his pass % is the lowest in the whole of the Championship- being 61%. On top of that, after all the leagues are added up, he loses possession more than anyone in the whole of the EFL.He was a vast improvement on his performance at Huddersfield, his chance in the first half was from a tight angle and looked a decent effort, but that I’m afraid, that was his only shot on target in 90 minutes.
In the second half he had a great opportunity to score, the ball was set perfectly for him to put his laces through it straight into the keepers bottom left hand corner, but what he did could only be described as a side footed weak back pass, the keeper dived to his left and had to wait for the ball to arrive.
Ndiaye also had a glorious opportunity second half, sat up perfectly to be struck home first time and inexplicably he took a touch and was closed down by the keeper, who couldn’t believe his luck.
Those two chances in my opinion, highlight why neither of them will score enough goals to win the games necessary for promotion. Those chances are the fine margins between success and failure and like it or not, Billy Sharp would have put both of them away without a second thought.
Ndiaye is young and can improve, McBurnie just isn’t quite good enough, his technique is often uncultured and his coordination and timing poor. I’ve seen his goals on his Swansea highlight reel and frankly its hard to believe it’s the same player. I don’t know if he’s lost some enthusiasm for the game or the money has focussed his attention elsewhere, but I don’t see him ever getting another contract at Championship level.
From Uniteds point of view, I think a lack of goals, like tonight against a team there for the taking, will mean another season at this level and I just hope we are putting all of our resources into finding at least a couple of goal scorers, because we are hopelessly short in that department and the only one we’ve got, can’t go on forever.
