Apologies for a slight thread hijack, but I would like to include Sander Berge in my reasoning. In both cases, McBurnie and Berge arrived for big money, based on prior form and ability.
The costs borne by the club, and the players subsequent failure to live up to expectations has made them easy targets for blame, when things don’t go right immediately. They did it before, and showed early promise but they were sunk by fans expectations based on price tags and history.
Find their best position and play to their strengths, and the situation could improve. Thing is, these two aren’t the only issue Hecky has to deal with, so their perceived failure is not easily or quickly resolved. Maybe we just need to be a bit more patient with them, and with the manager?
