McBurnie has lit the Championship up with other teams, why not with us?

He's used as a certain type of player. Almost wanted to be a battering ram, but I remember some of his goals earlier in his career that were brilliant, and he was playing deeper. Far deeper. He made teams like Swansea and Barnsley tick.

Play out better players in the right place with the right role, and we may have a chance.

He’s playing up front and he hasn’t scored for 40 games. That’s not the way he’s used. That’s a rubbish player.

I’m sick of people making excuses for this level of ineptitude.

Good players adapt their game to other styles/ systems.

We’re half way through April and he hasn’t scored a league goal.

Clown. You and him.

The desperation to find excuses for McBurnie is bizarre amongst some.

I get it that some are fed up with the stick he gets and want to defend him

However, his contribution for two years has been shocking for an 18 million striker on a reputed 20 grand a week.

Never fit apparently with another illness or a knock yet he's always out and about at events and playing the social media crowd.

Wins a few headers but my patience has worn thin and I wanted him here and was delighted when we signed him.

I have actually started to admire him. He has managed to convince people he is a pro footballer good enough indeed for the Prem. He’s on huge money, can’t trap a bag of sand and can’t hit a barn door with a banjo….. that is a skill in itself ! I would personally drive him to any other club who thinks he can play football.

I started a hats off Mcburnie thread the other week but now I would tell him to put it back on and his coat. This bloke couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat, let alone the back of the net. He wears the great red and white shirt but I can't support that sort of performance. It looked like he was looking for his watches instead of the ball 😱😱😱

It doesn't matter who you have upfront, when the midfield is passing sideways and backwards the whole game with no quality to produce chances
I agree with that, but the first touch of a trampoline, the ability to fall over most of the time, the total lack of positional sense and the turning circle of the Queen Mary do not help.

The service was culpable today, but McBurnie is a joke at this point.

I will say that the few times McBurnie was able to get involved today he showed nowt. But again I think people should be much more focussed on the reason which is that our forward(s) with a team performance as crap as that are having to produce things from nothing. Think about it, how many times has McBurnie, or Jebbo for that matter, missed a clear scoring opportunity? Very rarely, he doesn't get the chances. At Swansea he was getting chances produced by bits of quality from teammates. Here he's expected to generate his own chances which some players are suited to, McBurnie isn't.

He has played deep, he's often joggoing round behind other players.
He can pick the ball up where he wants and light up the championship now, that's up to him.

Again, Sharp isn’t generating his own chances. He’s standing in the right places and moving in the right way. Even Brewster was starting to do this before his unfortunate injury.

Look at the best move of the first half. Cross comes in from Stevens. McBurnie hits the ground. Gets up. Hides behind the defender as the ball comes back in from Baldock. A poor ball, yes, but if you stand there you won’t reach a good one.

Whenever we have a decent corner, he’s never anywhere near the ball.

You really need to stop flogging this dead horse.

9 out of 10 matches he couldnt give a fuck could he? Hes either too busy on the piss, drink driving or getting recorded failing to break a smart phone with his twig like, baby strength legs. Best thing all round is to stop dreaming he's going to come good and accept hes top 2 waste of money united have ever spent and fuck him off asap. A disaster of a signing.

He just pisses me off with his off the field attitude. For someone who hasn’t scored in two years, giving it the big one on social media is taking the fucking piss somewhat. A bit of humility? No. Pissed up, drink driving, fighting in the street. Not condoning the burglar at his house but £500k worth of watches? He can spend his money how he wants but don’t rub our fucking noses in it when a lot of fans are struggling to make ends meet. It’s not worked out with him, let’s cut our losses and get shut. He ain’t going to get any better.

It's not the midfield. McBurnie is incapable of putting the effort in to make space to receive the ball – they can't pass to him. And when they try he goes down like a sack of spuds. Next time you're at the game, look at his work rate compared to Sharp, Gibbs-White.

Quite frankly, he's stealing a wage.
