Really poor peeformance by maupay today - expect to see him dropped again. If mcburnie ever played like that for us he would get a pounding, loads of missed passes, losing the ball, missing easy chances. basically useless. Mcburnie getting better each game, Maupay getting worse. Its the CWAK effect in action for all to see.

We'll go for Maupay when Brighton go down.

There's loads to like about him.

In the build-up to the Brighton v Palace game today, the commentator highlighted Maupay as one of the principal reasons why Brighton have been sucked into the relegation battle.

Apparently - and I have no idea whether this is correct as we know all too well that media pundits can talk tripe - Maupay has had more shots at goal than any other player in the Premier League, so far this season, but his conversion rate has been so poor that he is at the very bottom of the 'shots per goal' stats table. The commentator concluded that had Maupay had even an average 'shots per goal' ratio, Brighton could have expected to be in the top 10 rather than staring at relegation.

Are you sure ? I thought he was one shot one goal and made all our strikers look like boiler room grafters on the titanic ?

Surely he can't be at the very bottom. Mcgoldrick for starters would be below him with no goals.

I'm guessing that until he actually scores a goal, McGoldrick will not even be on the list; he doesn't yet have a 'shots per goal' figure.

Maybe when Didzy opens his account, he'll enter the chart in last place...

As many people said when trying to sign him he would be a replacement for Billy, he’d be a great signing but would no doubt cost us similar to what Brighton paid for him.

Cash and Robinson or use the cash we get when we sell Robinson towards it.

Update

What a time to score!!!!!!!!! 95th minute and what a beauty it was. Doubled Arsenal and Maupay getting the winner in both games.

Football is back!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway...... Where were we ?

McBurnie 28 appearances 4 goals 0 assists 3 yellows no reds
Maupay 29 appearances 9 goals 2 assists 3 yellows no reds

Maupay 5 ahead as i predicted.

Congratulations on Brighton winning the ‘we signed a better Championship striker than Sheffield United’ trophy!!

It wasn't a case of that. I simply pointed out who made the better purchase and why. Lots of deluded people on here who i feel don't know much about football. I tried explaining but it's pointless. I let the stats do the talking now. I take no pleasure in gloating

You're right. Maupay has been better & likely will be prove to be the better signing.

Congratulations.

Haha you take no pleasure in gloating but turn up here like clockwork whenever Maupay scores.

Apparently we don’t understand football - well here’s something we understand: Maupay didn’t want to come here - he chose to go to Brighton. We wanted to sign him, so your comparison is a moot point.

I’m a big fan of Maupay - my family are Brentford fans so I’ve seen a lot of him over the last couple of years (I even met him last season - nice bloke).

I think the point that most people are making is that despite Maupay’s efforts, Brighton are still in a relegation battle and us, well, we’re gutted that we’ve lost to Newcastle because it meant we weren’t able to close the gap to the champions league places to 2 points...

That’s football - maybe you don’t understand...

For double the wages and £3m more he's doing better than McBurnie. Shocker.

Maupay would be perfect to replace Sharp but we don't have space for both in our squad.

McBurnie scored against your lot and Maupay scored against us. Remind me who was the matchwinner?

My favourite bit was when he tried to push the keeper to get a hand ball but ended up bending his leg in the wrong direction the little scamp

People might have given you the time of day if you didn't disappear when McBurnie banged that beauty in agaisnt you. Your just on the wind up which is a very odd thing to do to a team much better than yours.

I'm so pleased this clown has come on here and said this. Just made me sit back and think. His club is in a proper relegation battle, and he's come on our forum to gloat about their striker scoring 5 more goals that ours! We're going for Europe...what a time to be a blade!
Thank you Steve youve made me feel a little better about today!
Hope morepay gets the goals to fire you out of the championship next year.

It's an unfair comparison at the end of the day because Maupay's in a team that tries to score goals.

He probably was but we didn't want to pay the agent fee

I am sure Wilder or someone said he turned us down. Our offer was on the table for him I think but he opted for Brighton? He took days to decide as well.

I have kept the faith with McB up till now. My faith has been based mainly on the fact he ripped the Blades apart every time we played against Swansea/Barnsley.
Got to say he aint come close to doing that so far. Where he seemed fast & unplayable against us, he seems slow & predictable for us!

& TO THINK THE RETURN OF FOOTBALL WAS SUPPOSED TO LIFT THE COUNTRY'S MOOD :(:(:(:(:(

Yes you fucking do. Piss off.

Wow Brighton have scored 4 more than we have, maybe conceding 13 more than we have at the other end is their problem or are they just a one man team?
