The fact you post these are embarrassing really. So your lads scored a few more goals. We are a better team. We will finish above you. Easily.

Brighton with a wage bill over 1.5 million more than ours punching the air at a point at the Lane. Timeewasting from minute one too.

Maupay is on a lot bigger wage than McBurnie and I think our lad has and will prove to be better value for money. We wanted him but ge chased the buck. His loss. Could have been in a great team rather than your defensive limited mob.

Good luck in your fight against relegation. Who knows you might come back to post Maupay has scored more goals in a relegated team. Terrific. United. It's more about the team than the player. Thats why we are 6th in the league. Comfortably safe.
 
This guy is a genuine troll. He was on the Norwich board earlier in the season. He doesn't believe what he says himself.

If McBurnie was a CB I would be happy with those stats. The one stat missing is Maupay one chance one goal.

He could have done better with the 25 yard dipping volley, poor effort to miss the top corner from there.
 
I'm not sure whether anybody has mentioned this previously, but Maupay doesn't seem like a Blades player to me. I thought he was a petulant little arsehole whenever I saw him for Brentford - including him giving it the big one against Barnet when they played them in the FA Cup the year they'd knocked us out.

I find the comparisons with McBurnie pointless, but even more so given that I could quite easily have seen him being a disruptive influence if we had actually signed him. You know he's the type to go on strike if he does well and his current club blocks him from leaving - he already did pretty much that for Brentford.

Not for me thanks, McBurnie is getting better all the time and fits far better with the Blades ethos.
 



I though Maupay was quality yesterday.....him and McB together would terrorise any defence.

Interesting that he and CW embraced at full time.....I wonder just how close he was to joining us?

Have you even watched us over the last few seasons to know what makes us tick? Our strikers doing more than scoring goals is what has got us to 6th in the Prem.

And like Roy says, Ollie scoring his one chance at the Amex led to more goals than Maupey did yesterday.
 
I wouldn't be surprised to see him sign for United at some time in the future. CW tends to build up rapport with certain players and potential future targets that he likes, and often goes back in for players that he has tracked for a long time.

Latest example, Robinson from Notts Forest. CW had previously lost out on his signature (the lad chose Forest from QPR for the considerably larger pay packet than we could offer then and fair play to him i suppose) but CW still had him on his radar and went back in for him when the time was right again.

Just because a player might have once given him the knock back, CW doesn't cut his nose off to spite his face on signings.

Wouldnt surprise me in the slightest, if we were sniffing around the lad again in the summer or the summer of 2021.

Would be a great signing for us too and possibly the replacement for Billy# idc.

I think Maupay would score more goals than McBurnie for us because of the amount of chances we create and he's more 'alert' in the box!
But he doesn't play for us and McBurnie has already learned that you have to be a lot more than just a goal scorer in a CWAK team!
 
Always thought Maupay played better playing on the shoulder of the last man. Apart from the goal yesterday he was mostly in line with his midfielders which is a waste.

Playing for draws catches up with you
 
Different types of striker aren't they...difficult to compare.
I do like Maupay though,and I think he would have been a good signing for us.
 
I like how positive Maupay is, very direct with getting shots off always in his mind. We could really use a player like him. Creates chances for himself.

Although, in my opinion, Mousset has the biggest potential, I'm confident Maupay would have played almost every game for us this season had we signed him. I think Maupay would work well with any of our other striking options too. If we somehow do get Europe, I wonder whether Wilder would revisit this? I doubt it, but you never know.

Totally agree. Think we need someone like Maupay that shoot on instinct. He's a goal scorer!
Can't compare the 2 players though. Totally different animal!
 
Maupay's all round game was piss poor on Saturday and would see him getting splinters on his ass at the Lane. The choice for United was Moussett or Maupay not Mcburnie or Maupay, so the question implicit in the opening post is redundant. At less than half the fee and a fraction of the wages I know who I'd rather take given the choice of the two Frenchman. If people choose to persist with this false equivalence (Maupay and Mcburnie) they have to take into account the big wage differential (the reason we baulked) and sizeable fee discrepancy between the two. Having said all that CW/AK would probably be getting a much better level from Maupay.

Your wrong, we only went for McB and Mousse as we didn’t get Maupay.

Anyway I’d have loved to have seen Maupay in this team..but that’s the past, McB is doing ok, but like all the strikers they need to start scoring or they’ll be replaced next season

I heard the opposite which is fine. Mcburnie will be fine as long as we're winning games. The goal output of individuals is fairly unimportant.
