Another repetitive regurgitation of rumour predicated on his former employee’status’

McBurnie is thought to have been keen to return to United under Wilder’s guidance but it is unclear how much the manager’s departure has moved the needle, with the 29-year-old recently insisting that United’s 2024/25 campaign - which saw them overcome a summer of turmoil to win 92 points and reach the play-off final - showed how good a manager Wilder is”

Speaking of “ex employee status”maybe time Hall started scouring the 'situations vacant’ column?
Continuing puff piece propaganda such as this will hardly endear himself to the new hierarchy - perhaps CW will (formally) employ him as his PR?
Otherwise Biggsworld beckons although I guess there’s always another book in the offing?
Summat along the lines of :-

Self Harm in S2 The inside story of how Sheffield United Football Club fucked themselves over by fucking over my mate’

Call of the Wilder

Catch 92

Upgrade on Moore. Perhaps we’ll get a physical presence up there is we’re going more direct / break lines faster and McB is decent on the deck.
Although it's easy to label them as "big men up top" I think Mcburnie is more fluid than that compared to Moore. The start of the last season with Moore up top alone would have worked better with Mcburnie and I think that was the plan as he was training with us until the takeover didn't happen so he had to move on

Mcburnie has a lot of positives to his game. He’s not however imo quick enough for a high tempo pressing game for me.

Feels like a halfway house between wilder and Selles if he comes back. We may as well give the manager the actual tools he wants to work with.

I feel attributes any striker would need under the new approach aren't held by McBurnie, Moore or Campbell.

McBurnie isn't a good fit for a high-press system at all. Not enough pace or stamina and conceded too many fouls.

Can’t see him fitting into the quick high press, McB would nearly always jog to a player as he closed him down but slow down as he approached and not really put him under any great pressure but more hoping his presence would make the defender clear it or give it away, very rarely worked.

Just listening to Harlee Dean on under the cosh he said Selles tells his players no jockeying when they get to the player it’s get there fast and run straight through them. So must like really fit athletic and fast forwards/midfielders that can put in the work in the press.
