For some reason i thought we'd lost the next 2 games v Bury and Colchester and shipped 6 goals in total but it must have been a bad dream because if we had surely we would have brought someone or maybe two in.

Exactly they should have been in on September 1st, we should have made it so the player forced the move like what seems to happen to us.

It was a 'last minute hitch' as far as Burn is concerned. I suspect we've been naive. Obviously Burn is content to stay at Fulham and I suspect his agent threw in a new demand that we wouldn't accept. It may have been outrageous or it may have been acceptable but we wouldn't agree because we're 'principled'.
But this is what happens when you leave it until the last minute. I see this time and again in my job, warn people against it but they still think they're cleverer than every fucker else and then start crying when they realise they're not, not by a long shot.

How do we know we've left it till the last minute? How do we know that the management didn't think that the players they had targeted where set to come and then something happened at the last minute.?
I'm sure that Utd are doing the best they can to get somebody in. For goodness sake we are in the first division....no one is going to want to come here on a whim.
Be patient .....and before you all go ballistic saying we've been patient long enough, I've been watching them for over 40 years and I have seen the highs and the very low, lows I know what patient is.
Supporting Utd is a lifelong thing.....it gets under your skin and yes we have seen some bad football and some bad decisions but believe me it has been before and it will be again.

Agreed .... it was a really shitty dream because if we'd lost at home to Bury & Colchester I'm sure that there would have been a "game changing" investment in a competent centre half and a competent left back and some dross would have been "eased" out of the door on loan with a view to hopefully offloading in January !!

I had a dream last night that I was stood next to Bassett watching a match and in my dream he knew me and we were kind of mates. Unfortunately, I can't remember what we were talking about. Or who was winning.
