United will go down unless we change our manager! Its not too early! I remember brian clough getting sacked for leeds after just 6/7 weeks

Brian the Blade has been advocating sacking the manager for the last 76 years. Sooner or later he's going to get lucky. Is he right on purpose? No. He's a nobhead. Like these clowns who tell us the world is going to end, eventually one of them will be right although it won't be because they have some great insight or intelligence, it's just that if you throw shit at a wall some of it will stick.

Brian is a shit-flinger. He gets lucky on very few occasions, but that doesn't make him Rain Man.

Ah but by the same token at the opposite end of the spectrum we have BTL and other such folk telling us that losing to Rovrum and other such shit is a good thing. And that however shit we play we're lucky to have a team to support etc.

Constantly sacking managers is exactly why were in this position....

We need to ensure that we don't get another Robson in Weir but for now he's the best placed man to continue to work on developing this squad.

Personally I'm not overly excited about big signings to mask any problems, short term quality fixes are fine but I'd rather see us progressing by developing youngsters and not selling our best prospects.

That said, I'd take anything right now to get us out of this division.

The problem with that is that we won't develop enough good ones fast enough, or in the right positions. Continued sensible young signings like we have been making is the way to go, but we are starting to look short on experience. Not least at managerial level, unfortunately.

I'm presuming we can now go and hire any manager we want and pay him stupid wages with the prince on board.

We should only be sacking weir IF we appoint someone better the day after. Not like we have done before. Dare I say the same as the MASSIVE did when smeg head was sacked and the dead monkey came in.

I'm thinking signings like Baxter or the next Wells. Players with clear talent and some experience, like Baxter. Players that we can work with and give more experience at this level, but ones that will be ready for the championship... When we bloody get there!

Massively disappointed in Weir yesterday I must admit ,I hope he has the capability to react and adapt to situations ,and yesterday did nothing to support that view. I hope he is big enough to change his philosophy if its going tits up ,surely playing to the players strengths is the way forward not turning them into robots.

Sven being linked this morning :(

Not every manager is shit.... They need time to work with these players.

I found a cassette tape in my old radio / cassette a few weeks ago and played the tape to see what was on it. It was an old phone-in from around 2004 when Blackwell joined peter reid at Leeds. brian the Blade was saying that we should have kept Blackwell and got rid of warnock as Blackwell was the brains behind 2003.

I seem to recall that BtB was Blackwell's biggest critic when he was manager.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Here's mine. Brian the Blade is a wanker.

Brian the Blade is a complete and utter cock head...

....but on this occasion he may be correct.. Weir just does not seem to have it for me as a manager, probably more suited to running an Academy teaching youngsters the basics of football than trying to put together a senior team capable of getting results.

Don't agree. Constantly appointing the wrong manager is why we are in this position.

Well If we weren't sacking them then we wouldn't appoint the new ones...but I get your point.

The big thing for me is the almost annual change of manager that we've got used to. One thing that we got with Warnock was stability. I'm not talking about Warnock as a manager here, but the observation that he was with us for so long we had stability with a settled team. The team generally were able to cope with losses in players. The reason being that the players knew the system and could adapt to new players coming in

Over the years we've sold our best players to go on and progress their careers, Bramall lane had been a stepping stone.

Yet only one manager has gone on to better things, Speed. We don't nurture managers, I'm not saying we should've nurtured Adams etc but the likes of Wilson and Weir

Leaving aside the investment for a moment, DW has done a decent job in re-building the squad, bringing in the kind of players we needed (in theory), and trying to play 'the right way' as is the phrase. It's not happening at the moment which could be down to the system, certain players, the manager or any combination.

Here now lies the problem. I can understand DW's stance about not throwing money at the team but then again if the players we have aren't good enough then it's a no brainer to bring in what we need. It does beg the question though, as happened to a certain extent with Blackwell, why McCabe has employed DW and let him bring in the players he has if only to pull the rug from under his feet months later.

I hope common sense will prevail, DW brings in one or two experienced (and better) players who we desperately need and he can carry on with his plans but I do wonder, with McCabe's recent history, whether we might be in for a few more changes before things settle down.

Brian is an utter tool. His sole purpose is to wind people up by spouting controversial bollocks. He hasn't really got a fucking clue. Why anyone pays him any attention is beyond me.
