Molineux was a right shit heap in those days and crowds of 4,000 were common which was pretty much in line with most other third and fourth division clubs.

At least when we've been down there our support has stood out from the rest

We've got no potential, obviously, but had a stadium and support that stood out from the rest during the worst of times

They had crowds like that in 1985-6 and 1986-7, but after Bull arrived they shot up. They outdrew us the season we both went up.

Yes they did
It's what happens when fans think a club is finally going in the right direction

Although we went up that year, we were still on a downer following relegation and it took two thirds of the season for fans to start believing again, and even then not everybody believed.

It's the psychology of football fans, one clubs fans after having bad times starting to believe again

Against another teams fans who have had bad times that don't really believe the bad times are over

Was it the one we were winning 2-0 and some bloke called DeWoolf with long hair and completely OTT aggressive got away with murder all game and ended up scoring when he shouldn't have been on the pitch?

I rang Radio Wolves or whatever that night to complain about the referee and tell them how lucky they were. They didn't understand!!

Maybe that was another day as I seem to think it was daytime.
Pretty sure that was a new year's Day game

There’s loads of pictures of wolves ground on ‘lost football grounds’ on Facebook. Their south bank was enormous. By the time this game was played I think most of the ground was condemned. The new stand crippled them as they fell through the leagues. Bit like us and the south stand maybe.

How many were we able to take in that split end?

Nice how both wolves players said we deserved it.

Edit: 24,000 plus crowd and Steve Bull’s 50th goal of the season wow

We were indeed sharing a massive Kop with a chain link fence between us. Loads of the Wolves fans were flobbing at our fans through the fence.
I remember the Wolves fans after the game clapping us on our coaches cos we both got promoted.
I was there and they wasn't only spitting at us they were throwing coins aswell, which I returned the favour and unfortunately for me got thrown out of the ground after about 15mins,watched the game on the banking outside with about another 100 or so blades that didn't have tickets..

Oh yes.went for a pint of Banks’ before the game with a friend my wife had met at Poly. All ok then we strolled to the ground behind their fans to get to our part of the terrace and got showered with bricks and stones
