Only him, Baines and Gerrard to have played every minute of Premier League season so far as an outfield player.

Not bad to say many Blades thought he'd be 'found out' and not up to it as a top flight defender.

Just shows what a massive loss he was. Only losing Evans hurt us more in my opinion.

The other aspect of this which gets little mention is the fact we lost a 30+ goalscorer for nothing. I know we're dealing in imponderables as his situation was an odd one with the case looming, but still... Jordan Rhodes earned Hudds how much? :(

i think he's a decent player and fairplay to him for stepping up 2 divs but it looks like he'll be part of a relegation team who lost to a 4th div team in the cup. tis a funny ol game footie!

But played as a regular in a prem team arguably better than any we put out in the last ten years (and got to a cup semi in the first place)

One wonders how many tackles he has made. You would think that as a defender he'd have received a few knocks - unless, as many full backs seem to do, they don't make tackles, just try to steer the attackers into areas where they can do the least damage.

He's not far off suspension so the odds of a full house are slimming.

Not really when you consider Villa demolished a very good side (twice finishing 6th) with short-term gain the only consideration.
Obviously United are a case in point, but why do chairmen/owners think they'll do anything other than weaken a team by selling their best players? Would McCabe have ruined the 2009 play-off team if he could have seen us four short years later?

He probably would.

Was always decent for us and I never doubted he would make it in the Prem.
Good luck to the lad - hope he plays at the to level for many years to come.
Used to love his forays down the wing, overlapping Willo. Nothing like the pair at the club nowadays.

Scored a cracking goal today by all accounts.
Shame he seems to be the last off the Academy full-back production line for now.

looks like we sold him on the cheap.
What was the fee? 700K plus add ons?

Outstanding goal, the lad as been very good this season for villa, he is sensible and to be honest just keeps his head down and does his job, like walker. we can be very proud they came from united both of them.

Is anyone going to claim that was a clearance?

Should never have sold him.

This is Sheffield United were talking about. The 3rd division club. With a history in the last 3-4 years (and lots on the past too) of selling anything that remotely resembles a footballer. The club that cannot keep away those pesky agents. The club that sells its top scorer in January. Then replaces him with a player that didnt make the grade the first time round.
