First time I've stumbled upon on this forum, so apologies if this has been raised already but could we have some comment from the club with regards to why it's always United that are shifting their games when we are at home on the same day/night as the other lot from Sheffield.

At the start of last season the official word was each club would take it in turns to shift, this obviously hasn't happened. Three times last season our games were moved to a different day and twice already this season, with the other lot not being inconvenienced even once. It's especially galling with the night games as I remember in the mid 90s the other lot in Sheffield saw themselves above playing Tuesday night and would only play on W*****day night as befits Premier league teams. Now they've changed their tune and want to play Tuesday night and we're giving way to accommodate them.

What I'd like to know is, is this a directive from the police? If it isn't why aren't we holding our ground on this issue? And if it is why aren't we holding our ground on the issue, or at least firing a bill through to South Yorkshire police for loss of revenue from playing Saturday afternoon to Friday night?

I've been getting a bee in my bonnet about this too. I take the view, however, that is the fault of the fixture planners. Twice already this season, United have been away on the same night as Parson Cross Rovers. On Sept 16th, United were at Col U and the Pigs at Brum. This weekend, we're at Chesterfield and they're at Leeds.

One of those at least could have been switched to give us a home game. How do they manage to do this at least twice a season, especially when t'pigs have at least 2 weeks when they do not play due to the international break that the Championship has. Therefore, there is absolutely no excuse from the idiot fixture planners.

I don't disagree about the way that United have seemingly caved in to them, but if it is a police directive or from other source, I would like to see the club issue a statement naming and shaming the individuals and organisations responsible.

Can you ask them if we can change all our games to a Friday night, would be much more enjoyable and no fixture clashes
