Quite a lot to talk about his first game this season.

1. Thought he looked very good and composed on the ball.
2. Looks quicker than i initially thought as well
3. Surely it wasnt a red card offence was it? It seems a very harsh decision, but maybe people will think otherwise.
4. good job we have signed Jordan, otherwise i fear the kid had no competition for his place at all. This should keep him on his toes (providing Jordan doesnt have a couple of blinders and keeps his place)

Looks a good prospect to me though. Think hes different to the kyles, but rekon hes the best full back in the club at the moment.

The key thing to remember is that he is 21 and still relatively inexperienced. The best thing we can do is to take him out of the firing line for 3 or 4 weeks and reintroduce him then.

Have watched it again and it's as harsh as owt...and also shows how bad Peter Walton is as a referee. How come he gives straight red,and then in the second half,Bothroyd goes in just as bad on Quinny and doesn't even get a ticking off...bearing in mind he was already on a yellow.

Respect the referee - respect my arse...

Just hope that the lad doesn't take it too much to heart, and that he makes a name for himself. After all,it was pleasing to see Lowton,James and Chappel all in the first team squad for yesterday's game...

It's a shame as I'm sure there was no malice in the tackle, but if you catch someone halfway up their shin with your studs you are going to get sent off nowadays. Thought he was playing well up to that point though.
Interesting to note Blackwell said he wasn't a right-back as well- I wonder where he sees him playing predominantly. Although it might just be the usual Blackwell spin, as he also came out saying Ertl isn't a centreback, whereas we were told his versatility and the fact he could play in midfield or CB was a reason we signed him.

Can't agree, I'd keep the faith with him once his ban is up, obviously providing of course that place is still up for grabs.

Let's not forget he said Jordan Stewart wasn't a LB.... Actually he may have been right, but he certainly was more of a LB the a LW or RW.
