I enjoyed that trick of his. I am not impressed with the quality nor amount of crosses they manage to put in.

Me neither. It's difficult to be critical when we keep grinding out results, but I still think we need to be more positive in our overall approach, and get some pace on the wings. By now, Wilson's tactics are vindicated and he wont change them. It's really quite boring to watch though.

Don't you just hate winning ;)

Aye, it's a funny old game. The trouble is, I've just trained my head to demand style over content after 20 years, and we're back to content over style again.

Yep, it seems to work - Heres my match report:
kick off,
fanny about abit, let the opposition have a long spell of pressure. absorb,
half time.
more oppo possession, absorb more, long ball over the top, chase down, pen, Blackman, 1-0, 3 mins injury time, full time.

First half our midfield were shite going forward, you can see Williams is more at home as a defender, Doyle and McDonald were not even in the game, Flynn looked the best of a poor bunch but for Christ's sake find someone else to take corner kicks, someone who can lift it over the first man. Both full backs poor going forward crosses from 40 yards out are easy to defend. Slightly better 2nd half but we were lucky enough to get a really soft penalty otherwise ?????
And to think that is good enough to have us joint top of the division, you gotta laugh

mc mahon providing stability on the flank has helped Hill look really solid, he and Maguire look really comfy

we havent abandoned style , just getting the new and younger players settled into place, then we can get expansive
Danny has had a lot of quality wrenched away by circumstances beyond his control,,and in my book is squeezing great results out of a situation he cant be relishing

we have to see both sides , the opposition arent breaking us down ,so we are getting somethings right

Good one Swissers - it'll certainly save Deadbat a lot of time this season if he cuts and pastes

Matt Hill got some right abuse from parts of John Street tonight when he asked the ball boy to fetch him a bottle of water (which was behind the advertising boards).

He was called everything under the sun, from "lazy twat" right up to "we don't want your type here, billy big bollocks".

All because quite rightly, he didn't want to risk leaving the field of play without the referee's permission.

Bloody hell... The team might not be producing the highest quality of play at the moment, but they do mostly seem to be trying hard and are committed to the cause. Hill tonight especially I thought.

Can't see how anyone can slag Hill off - he does his job very well - he is not a wing back - just a good old fashioned defender. It's the midfield and the forwards that I have an issue with.

[quote="metalblade, post: 451254, , Doyle and McDonald were not even in the game,[/quote]

I think they have been like this most games...both seem scared to put in a tackle and take some responsibility
