Step by step, Today we don't have to worry about relegation, next step....confirmed play-off, and finally, ok hopefully the day comes when it's confirmed that we are promoted automatically.... Step by step

to be relegated...... happy days

Has been for a while. Whilst there are currently 30points available, it is impossible for all teams below us to catch us as they all play each-other. So whilst it's now "mathematically" impossible. It has actually been impossible for some weeks.

This also works the other way around for the deluded in S6. For them to make the play offs (yes they are only 6 points off), they need to get a minimum of 20 points from their last 10 games to stand a chance. I keep telling them. When Bristol play Derby etc."They can't both get zero points"

I will give you a TCsLoveChild Guarantee that we have already made the play-offs....... at least UTB

You're all forgetting the points deduction when an idiot runs on the pitch tonight...

Not true - it was still mathematically possible before Saturday. Rotherham and Reading needed to win all their remaining games but were not playing each other. Other teams could afford to lose at least one game (many more in some cases) and still catch us. It would have taken an almost infinitely unlikely set of results, but I don’t think that would worry the Footballing Gods (it hasn’t put them off before).

How long will it be so that the Pork cannot overtake us ? :D

You're forgetting the football authorities propensity for fucking up Sheffield United fc, I wouldn't rule out a 30 points deduction for having a £3 programme

That’s what you called blind stupidity. Even Blade mates I’ve got don’t understand it. “Imagine if we got them in play-off final?”
‘They have to get the play-offs first’
“I’m telling you they might do!”
‘No. No they won’t.’

Many on here would’ve taken that after the opening two games.

if the teams 6th to 15th repeat their previous 10 game form again for the run in, the positions would be as follows.

  1. .
  2. .
  3. .
  4. .
  5. .
  6. Bristol C - 73pts
  7. PNE - 73
  8. Brentford - 71
  9. Derby - 67
  10. Forest - 67
  11. Wednesday - 66
  12. Hull - 64
  13. Villa - 67
  14. Swans - 61
  15. Birmingham - 61
If you use a more accurate CURRENT FORM of the previous 6 games and project that average points per game forward over the next 10 games you'd end up with...

  1. .
  2. .
  3. .
  4. .
  5. PNE - 74
  6. Middlesbrough - 71
  7. Bristol C - 71
  8. Forest - 71
  9. Brentford - 69
  10. Wednesday - 66
  11. Villa - 64
  12. Derby - 63
  13. Brum - 62
  14. Hull- 62
  15. Swansea - 57
Saying that. If they win 4 on the bounce...

Apparently they haven't bounced since Duffy scored, late September on a Sunday Night. :) UTB

I'll answer my own question. 3 more wins for us and even if the pigs win every one of their games 10-0 they would still fall short.

Not bad for a pub team :p:p:p

Just doing some geeky maths and stats myself - last few years its taken anywhere from 89-93 points to go up we're currently on 71 --

That's 18 to 22 required from a possible 27 - we need to win all our home game and 2/3 wins away.

Basically if you're still reading we'd probably stand a good chance if we win all our games and don't focus on boring stats and maths :)
