I can't help but think that SUFC are over-estimating the "high profile games" we have this season based on the ticket price of £34 (£30 Kop). That matches the top prices charged (South Stand only) just four years ago for the likes of Man U, Liverpool and Arsenal and I'm not sure the interim inflation covers games against these sides to our crunch clashes with the likes of Hull and Leicester next season.

Apparently there are that many "high profile" games next season that the only way to "guarantee" a seat is to buy a season ticket.

It may be £36 at QPR, but we're talking Shepherd's Bush/West London prices there too. I looked at their season ticket prices, £600 for the cheapest adult. Bramall Lane isn't exactly in one of the wealthiest area's or cities in england. It will price out the working class fans when we have done so much in the last decade to expand, grow and keep our fanbase.

Obviously being a ST holder it wont effect me but it's pretty poor from the club.

Can we also expect any high profile cup games to follow the same pricing structure? Bloody scandalous. If I'd paid £34 to watch the toss we were being served last year I'd have been banging someones door down to get me money back!

Nor me. didn't get a season ticket last year because of impending redundancy but still went to lots of games (stupid really), £30 to sit on the kop is ridiculous in the current climate.

Surely this season, the practice of just using the Bramall Lane lower will end? Because surely Leeds, Forest, Derby, Hull, Barnsley, Doncaster and Burnley are capable of filling the away end with 4-5000 away fans. I think that the raised ticket prices willl apply to the away fans as well, so surely this should make up some of the deficit?
Obviously it won't close off all the black hole's there may be from reduced ticket sales, but it would plug some gaps.

not sure donny or dingles will sell that many, they don't get much more at home.

Leeds might. Others won't, some by quite a lot (i.e Burnley and Donny).

I must admit we don't seem to get these big away suppports as often since we came back down. Obviously the composition of the league changes each year, but back in the 90's and into the last promotion season you could always bank on Wolves, Man City, sometimes Ipswich if they were in the top 2, Sunderland, WBA to bring a big following. Man City and Sunderland more often than not would fill all 5500 seats on the pre - redeveloped Bramall Lane end.
I suppose ticket prices don't help, increasing as they do year on year. But there are certainly more sides within a 100 mile radius of the Lane than there were last season.

SUFC are an absolute disgrace charging that much for a piss poor product. Do they seriously expect someone with 2 kids to fork out the best part of 80 quid to watch crap football?

I hope these "high profile" games are played in a half empty stadium then the idiots that have come up with these prices might get the message.

Am I the only one that suspects there may be plenty of 10 quid ticket offers after xmas?

At 34 quid United can fuck right off and I'll go and watch Sheffield FC or soccer Saturday.
