Baldock and Bash 6s. Too many times they didn't take responsibility in attacking situations. Both lost the ball through lack of concentration

Harsh on Wilson who I think I would like to see with Duffy behind him. He’s not the striker to hold the ball up.

Stearman was my MOM won everything that came in our box.

Fleck missed Duffy.

We’re close to clicking. I am not worried as we deserved to win more than lose. We just need to keep the faith.

Evans, Baldock and Stearman all good.

Fleck had his moments and Clarke was a right handful in the first half.

Otherwise, all a bit meh.

Again missed Duffy when attacking. Lack of an option inside made the overlap almost impossible to make. Same could be said for the left hand side

Stearman MOTM for me. Surprised how much praise Evans is getting, did some good things but gave the ball away too easily a few times.

Moore 6
Baldock 7
Stevens 5
Basham 6
Stearman 8
O'Connell 7
Evans 6
Leonard 6
Fleck 6
Wilson 6.5
Clarke 6.5

Only player that deserved a decent mark was Evans, rest average at best.

Steadman played well but had his toblerone head on. Fired headers off at all angles all night

Watching us play reminds me of when I first buy the latest Fifa game.

I'll play people off the park, but my shooting is atrocious and I can't jockey properly.

No but your ratings are more accurate but stick to whole numbers instead of the halves.

Baldock & Evans joint MOMs.

Clarke back to his best first half (but faded 2nd), Wilson looked wily at times with lots of movement, Fleck very decent in patches.

Evans was our main man, always showed for the ball and drove the game, for me man of the match.
Leonard reminds me of Montgomery (with a bit more quality), he gets around the pitch well making tackles.
Baldock-,again works hard and offers a threat down the right.
Stevens- seems to have lost his confidence going forward and plays it too safe all the time.
Stearman- looking excellent these days, played well.

Leon and Wilson- hard to judge strikers when they don’t get many chances.
Leon worked hard as usual where as Wilson looked more lazy that Leon but more preditor like.

how does moore get 7 for picking the ball out of the net? i don’t rate our keepers they don’t make enough saves for me.. their keeper stopped 3 certs

6's all round for the subs

Wilder - 5 I love the man to bits and what he's done for this club is spectacular, my support for him unwavering, but tonight those subs cost us. Holmes/Duffy for Leonard and keep Evans on for me.

Very mediocre tonight imo, which for playing a team like Villa isn't too bad really, we just didn't look as if we wanted it enough and second half were just aiming long and giving possession straight back to them. I said before the game Villa would be solid but unspectacular, squad full of experience and I think that's a fair summary. I think like most have said, getting into good areas then stalling, I can understand the want to wait for the right move/pass but we do need to just get in the box with a bit of pace sometimes.

This is all over the place: keeper doesn’t have much to do, gets a 7. Stearman and O’Connel “solid” (correct btw) get a 7, as does Bash who made mistakes. Your boundary for not having much to do starts at 7, but a solid game gets a 7, but then a player who makes mistakes (therefore has a worse game) also gets a 7.

Leonard, in your description had shots, made good challenges, and got around the pitch a lot, 6.5. But Fleck who did significantly less because he didn’t get enough of the ball, had a better game (7).
