Good enough for mid-table but not good enough for top-6.

Clarke has 1 goal in the last 15 games. How long can he be excused because of his magical month earlier?

All Brentford players were celebrating near the corner flag and that little ginger twat must have run 50 yards to get to Blackman !
Can’t understand what he thought he was doing. It was our ball, our kick-off. If Blackman had given it him they still would have had to wait until we were ready.

Positives - Defence again, 1 goal conceded in 4 games.
Baldock is a machine.
Fleck 2nd half

NEgatives - Strikers
Enda Stevens. I can't fathom him out, is it a confidence thing. He'll run 50 yards forward with the ball, stop and play it backwards. It's like he's shirking responsibility and taken the easy option all the time. I think he has so much more in him.

Lafferty should be in for Stevens while his form is like this.

I’d have taken a point before the game so it’s all to play for. Could do with Wolves doing us a favour now, I can’t see Sunderland getting anything at Derby

Now it was some second half end to end. United scored from Chris Basham who hit it superbly and showed the strikers how to do it. He hit and it took a deflection into the keepers bottom right hand corner much to our and the travelling fans delight. It continued with United on top but they drilled the ball into the box and it fell to their player who slotted it into the net a well beaten Blackman. Then while that was going on Blackman picked the ball out of the net and their player grabbed hold of Blackman trying to get the ball off of him for a quick restart Blackman wouldn't let him have the ball their player Woods I believe pushed Blackman in the face and Blackman pushed him back in the face well the ref sent both off. With that Leonard made way for Simon Moore and their was no chance of Brooks coming on now. Donaldson looked sharp and two great saves by their keeper prevented two goal bound efforts. Basham had three attempts and the final attempt their keeper made another great save and at last Clarke dribbled his way into the box beat two men and their keeper just managed to prevent a certain goal. Man of the Match had to be their keeper but closely behind was Chris Basham immense 1-1

That’s a pretty good summary of the game actually. Well done.

Phone me again tomorrow, same time as today, for your next English lesson. Tomorrow I’m going to introduce you to paragraphs.

As much as Blackman was a knob keeping the ball like that, it was us who were restarting the match. All Woods was doing was getting ball back for us to kick off.

Stupid red cards all round.
Remember a game against Oldham at BDTBL,players sent off in an identical situation.

Positives -
The biggest one is now Blackman will be suspended for a couple of games and we won't have to put up with his mistakes and erratic performances.
Fleck was good second half, but not doing it consistently enough.
Despite the comical goal we conceded, we actually defended well.

Negatives -
Gutless performances from the strikers. Complete lack of balls and composure when the pressure was on. We do get what we pay for so I suppose we can't expect anything else.
Complete lack of intelligence and professionalism once we'd got the lead - stupid fouls from Leonard and Basham around our box consistently put us under pressure. Leonard's inability to connect a simple 5 yard pass or just clear his lines resulted in giving the throw in away, which then lead to Bashams foul and free kick for the goal.
Both wing backs were shocking yet again, and the lack of wingers in the squad mean we have to persist with the same shape and us having to play dumb and dumber even when they've been shocking since christmas.
Ryan Leonard - awful performance yet again and it's like playing with 10 men when he's in midfield. Consistently gives the ball away, when he does connect a pass he just puts the other player under pressure, and he's a yard off in closing the ball down - resulting in stupid fouls.

Ah, excellent, I was wondering who was going to leap in first with a revisionist reframing of Blackman’s contribution – congratulations on getting there ahead of the rest.

Now then, who wants to throw in an “I’m glad we’re going to be without Blackman now, he’s too lazy” comment?

Blackman consistently makes mistakes - was at fault for the goal today when he came flapping around and didn't command his 6 yard box, then got himself stupidly sent off. Moore is a better goalkeeper. Simple.

Have to say I thought Brentford were really average, all very pretty in areas that won't hurt teams. So fucking what. Telling that their goal was after a launched free kick, other than that they offered very little.

That said, I'm disappointed we didn't win the game but credit to their keeper in the second half. Sharp should have scored at least one in the first half, chances you should expect him to put away with ease. Baldock's chance on half time was a poor effort also.

Must win on Monday now or it's bye bye play offs.

Can you do punctuation first? Nearly passed out waiting to draw breath.

Still playing better than Clarke who has again done nothing. At least Sharp is in the right areas.
And Leon wasn’t last week?..... you can’t have it both ways. Tell me, if Leon did nothing today, what did Sharp do? (Not slagging Billy. Just defending Clarke)

3 match ban for Blackman? Sorry if its already been mentioned......

When we put our exaggerated ambitions to one side, I think we were excellent today. The conditions were awful, and it was the reason for Billy’s misses, as the ball was travelling so quickly it just skidded off him. We made some great chances and their keeper was excellent, twice from Don and once from Leon. George’s chance was probably the best.

Both our goal and theirs were pretty scrappy - not surprising under those conditions.

Both teams are 7-10th quality and our drive could just about squeeze us into 6th - probably need Derby to fade for that - as they are the poorest.

Fleck really is stand out - who would you rather have in your team John Fleck or Jordan Henderson?!

Magic comes with Patience and Persistence

when I watched both derby's this season I was more comfortable with blackman in goal than moore ,moore worries me any one who can't command six yards is no better than league 1. the save moore made at the end of the derby at bramhall lane was because he didn't come for an easy cross in the first place.
to say moores better because blackman made a mistake coming for a cross is ridiculous

The goal was scored from the second phase, how was it Blackman's fault? Yes he came for it and didn't get it but he was back on his line for the shot that went in. The goal, for me, was Bash's fault for giving away a silly freekick and allowing Brentford to put the ball into our box.

My opinion is that you have a low level of football understanding, but each to their own.

He came for a ball he didn't get anywhere near and he wasn't anywhere near set when their guy shot, he was still moving back into position when he struck the ball. .... 0.40 seconds in. If you're level of football understanding thinks he's got himself back in a set position to dive and save, and he's at no fault for that goal then good luck to you. Yeah Basham's fault for the free kick and weak header - but Blackman's fault for being indecisive, not being set and not commanding his box.
