Mason Bennett

Now that Derby have acquired Leon Best, what is the bet they are ready to negotiate a deal for Mason now? Wouldn't be surprised to see them come backwwilling to deal without Freeman as part of the pakage. Mac is not as fool, he knows that Mason would be in good hands with NC.
He's already been quoted as saying that mason will leave on loan. But not to us. I'm not sure if that was him having a dig?

The brolly has seriously spat his dummy out, I trust nigel and he says it fell down at freemans wages, derby insisted it was both or neither. Mclaren has said he's disappointed at Bennett being messed around but I'm sure if a deal was there to be done we'd have done it. I think freemans agent has a lot to answer for on this one

I think McLaren's well and truly ruled it out now, he's hardly going to send him here after basically telling the press that it's anywhere but Sheff U for Bennett. It's a shame because as Clough said it would have worked out well for everyone involved.

If anyone's acted poorly in this situation it's Derby. Why tie up the two transfers together? The Freeman deal should have been a separate issue.

Clearly this wasn't our fault. And I don't watch other team's transfer activity as close as ours, obv.

BUT. Does anyone else have as many troubles as us? Probably not, but....

*Listens to metallic chug of a malfunctioning fax machine*

Werent they linked together so Derby didnt have to give anything to Forest for the Freeman sale?

MacClaren spat his dummy in the media and said because the joint deal through Mason wouldn't be coming to Sheff Utd. His loss. Fuck em

Fair enough then i thought it had to be a double deal or nothing, then just bennett signs for someone. Looks a good player in the long run but not the answer to our problems short term.

No Maclaren clearly stated that Mason wouldn't be coming back and the freeman deal was dead.

Yeah think he could've done ok, but we move on

Been recalled by Derby as not getting enough first team opportunities. Could be worth looking into trying to get him again as he is exactly what we need.

Probably would be okay for us Derby Blade but not after the wally with the brollies hissy fit over our signing him on loan. Now he's shit on Bradford, let him get up to speed in Derbys reserves, instead of messing other teams about. Feel the same about McClaren as I did Redknapp when Spurs did the dirty on us with Kyle Walker.

If he can't force his way into Bradfords team why would he be any good for us ?
Wasn't Bob Harris unable to break into the Blackpool team when we signed him? He didn't do too bad for us last season, did he?

Maybe Clough could get the best out of Mason, presuming he knows a lot about him having been at Derby.

Breaking into a champoinship team would be a lot harder to do than breaking into a league one Bradford team I would image

If Derby are stockpiling forwards would this kid be worth a look? Still young, pacy came on in their first game and put in a cracking cross for the second goal.

Not a great goal scoring record but has the “potential”... Better option than Nugent or Jerome?

I doubt they'd sell. Lampard has stated that he wants a much younger team so likely to get shot of Nugent and Jerome instead and keep Bennett.

Was about to say "don't be ridiculous" but seeing how many forwards Derby are buying it may be an option.

Derby logic: if we buy every clubs target they can't score goals for them = promotion.

If they don't go up however they will be in trouble.

I believe he's had a decent pre-season but can't see Derby letting him go to a rival and I think we need more proven options anyway.

Bennett is at Derby, one of the stupid clubs that throws wages around like confetti.

We can't afford his wages.

Anyone who heard Lampard's interview the other night will know how highly he rates him, and thus, how unlikely/unrealistic of a suggestion this is.
