Not got an issue with him reffing the game.......yet. (I may have after). He sent Doyle off but in fairness it was a sending off!

He doesn't seem like a ref who likes to centre of attention. I get the feeling Howard likes the limelight a bit too much nowadays.

I think Marriner is a decent ref so pleased with that. He only gave Morgs a yellow if you went to that game at Barnsley

He wasnt banned for the gibbslaide chamberlain moment because the fa deemed it was the linesman or 3rd official or whatever they fcukin call them nows fault who was stood on the halfway line

Apologies he wasn't banned. Just 'rested' this coming weekend from a Preimier League game. Diabolical that.

He wasn't banned because he owned up to his mistake and apologised publicly to Arsenal and Gibbs. That said, it would have helped enormously that he made that decision when it was 2-0 rather than 0-0 after 17 minutes. I've not got an issue with it.

wizadry makes a good point too - the linesman should have been able to tell Marriner who it was straight away as Oxlade-Chamberlain's "save" was on his side of the pitch.

They'd have scuffed it anyway, honestly the worst side I've seen come to the Lane all season, perhaps with the exception of Shrewsbury.

Andre Marriner will referee the Semi Final. This will be after his suspension for sending the wrong player off even though the offender Oxlade Chamberlain pointed out he had shown the red card to the wrong man, he stood by his decision and sent Keiran Gibbs off instead.

Sorry SW didn't realise you had raised it, I agree he's a decent choice, I was expecting one of our historical nightmares like Deane. It was just so ironic after his red card issue we had one last night.

This referee being rewarded a FA cup semi Final at wembley after one of the most prolific mistakes, disgusting really the guy shouldn't even be refereeing so soon after.
+ No wonder why refereeing is so bad if you get rewarded for such mistakes.

All that aside, generally Marriner is one of the best refs around. I see Michael Oliver has the other semi and he is also a good ref who may well get the final.

Just thank our lucky stars it isn't Dean.
