Speaking to a Forest supporting colleague today, and we were reminiscing about years gone by when we got onto the subject of Marlon Harewood. He recalled a match at City Ground around 2001/2002 when Harewood scored against us, ran to the touchline to celebrate in front of the Forest fans, jumped and punched the air and inadvertently socked the linesman square in the face!

I was at that game but had completely forgotten about this incident until he brought it up. The linesman needed a good 5 minutes of treatment from the physio and Blades fans were chanting for him to be sent off.

Anyone else remember this?

I was there but had forgotten about it until I read the OP. I remember there were two or three idiots (who were supposed to be Blades fans) getting into the area for blind football fans (for either teams) who were receiving the special commentary. The stewards politely told these idiots that the are was reserved for blind football fans but they refused to move. Late in the game Forest thought they had scored again (linesman flagged for a foul or offside) and one of the idiots pushed the cheering blind Forest fan behind him but the blind (I think he was partially blind) fan responded with impressive punches that shocked the idiot. Stewards then got hold of the idiot got him out of the ground (I think two of his embarrassed friends followed him). Many Blades fans were laughing at the idiot.

Hope youve learnt your lesson young man
or would you prefer to be called Mr coco

I actually saw him play the other week against FC United of Manchester, guy obviously loves the game to still be wanting to knock it around at that level. Proper huge unit, slow as shit but still glimpses of skill!

The picture is rather funny.

Wasn't it the opening game of the season? A 1-1 draw ?

I have fonder memories of the visit the season after as after a 3-1 defeat I met a lass in Leeds that night that I'd been working on for weeks - who performed a sex act on me at my mates house - I ended up marrying her :)

Yes I was there with a couple of mates. It's the only time I've ever laughed after seeing United concede a goal. Felt sorry for the linesman but couldn't help it we were falling about, well funny.

Was probably there for that but I remember a couple of evening games at that time too, and a very wet pitch, nearly unplayable.
