I’m not saying Matos is a first team starter, I’m saying he’d had a full season playing at championship level in a poor team and looked good, he’s 20 years old and comes from an elite academy. I’m just not sure he deserves throwing on the same scrap pile as Chong, McGuinness et al.

Some players need time to settle and some good coaching, look at Souza or Slimani as an example.

He comes from an academy that hoovers up a whole load of promising youngsters to shit in the clubs who would have a good sell on once they develop and play them.
Chelsea is not an elite academy, otherwise their team wouldn’t be stacked with ex Brighton boys.
