Outgoing? Mark McGuinness

How much did we actually pay for McGuinness? I honestly thought at the time we brought him in for around £2-3m as a squad player, but I've seen reports suggesting £10m+, which would just be outrageous if true.

Personally, I'd definitely keep him. He's reportedly on £25k pw, which is on the higher end for the Championship, but he's had a good start to the season. Wouldn't be the first player under Wilder to go from the transfer list to one of the first names on the team sheet.

Can't see anyone giving us more than £5m for him, and even that would probably be a real push. So realistically would we get anyone better in?!

Yep. The slightly depressing prospect of getting the dead weight out on big wages and only replacing with higher quality loans is better than retaining them and suffering the rest of their doubtless stupid contracts. United should be all over outgoing permanents for Chong, Mcguinness, Cannon (right price), Shackleton, RND.
