Sheffield United plc (AIM: SUT), the football, property and leisure services business, announces that its Chief Operating Officer, Mark Fenoughty is leaving the Club, effective immediately.

Simon Capper, aged 41, will join Sheffield United's board of directors as Finance Director, with immediate effect and will assume all of Mr. Fenoughty's responsibilities. Simon is currently Finance Director of United Scarborough Estates, the Club's property joint venture with Scarborough Property Company plc.

Simon qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1994, and, prior to joining Scarborough he worked at DCDM, an accounting and consulting firm that represented Andersen Worldwide, working from offices in Zambia, Malawi, Kenya, Tanzania and Botswana.

Kevin McCabe, chairman of Sheffield United, commented: "Simon is an experienced accountant and, having worked closely with him in conjunction with our property joint venture and at Scarborough Estates, I know that he has the right skill sets to help take the Club forward. I am therefore delighted to welcome him to the Sheffield United team.

"Simon's first task will be to finalise the financial planning for the future of the Club, including a strategy to plan for our potential relegation to the Championship, which is still very much in dispute. We remain committed to a full challenge to the FA's recent decision and are confident of the Club's future, both in its on pitch and off pitch activities."

There is nothing further to disclose in relation to the appointment of Mr. Capper under schedule two, paragraph (g) of the AIM Rules
