What is your opinion on Mark Bunn?
Rate him out of 10. 1 being sunday league level and 10 being Peter Schemichael. Give reason for your score.

It is early on but I'll give my rating based on his first 9 games.

I'd give him a 6/10 so far. He has great distribution, he commands his defence well and he's willing to come for a cross unlike his predecessor (sp?)

He's not really had a big test yet as we don't tend to be put under a great deal of pressure, but he's looked a bit shaky from the long range shots he's conceded. I feel he should have done better for the goals against Wednesday and Swansea. I'd say I like to see him tested properly, but it would be a lie as I don't want to see us put under the cosh alot! He has made some good reaction saves in these games though, which shows he has good reflexes.

He certainly has potential, but is by no means the finished article.

I will give him a 7.

It worries me that he can't get to long shots, but he does command his area well, and has a good kick.

Early days. Maybe less likely to pull something amazing out of the bag such as Kenny but stronger in other respects.

No qualms with him continuing though.

did I just not see a thread where you were complaining about Unitedites being miserable and negative???
ok i probably deserve that ,just getting a bit pissed off with everything united at the minute

2/10 - Liability. Not tall enough. Positioning is poor.
Starting to Make the defense nervous. Even though we appear to be pushing the self destruct button and not protecting him. Kenny would have saved most of the shots Bunn has cocked up on. He only gets 2 due to his kicking.

But it's not just one bad error is it. Pigs second, Swans second, Ipshize second - all should have been covered by a pro keeper. He has to be unhappy with all of those. MInd you Bennett cannot be feeling too confident after the Vale match. Blackie needs to sort this position out sooner rather than later. He was a goalkeeper himself so he should be able to spot one who is good enough. The keeper has to be well over 6 foot tall in today's game.

To be fair to him on the long ranger (not seen the replays yet)....

The shot shouldn't have been coming in, Harper was stood ball watching not once but twice in the direct build up. No way should he have been allowed to even get the shot away.

Bunn isn't blameless, but lets not string up one bloke for something with multiple failings.

And we're off for the bunnkicking stakes here at S2. Its too short by a short head even though he is 6' tall followed by bad with long shots coming up on the rails. Not a patch on Paddy is a distant third followed by the same old shit in fourth. Finally its we have to have a scapegoat and the same idiots with the same non sensical posts bringing up the rear.

Christ, get a grip. things need to be sorted at the back but you don't need a degree in Meadowhall Sunday League of Football to see that. However, its the entire defence that needs a kick up the arse not just one bloke.

If someone can see a single positive from kicking Bunn on his own then please tell me what it is. Whatever happens, he is the last line of defence, there are 10 players in front of him who should all be looking at their defensive capabilities. Also the Manager needs to suss out what the hell is going on. It needs sorting and sorting out quickly but I am sure Blackwell knows that. Bound to be some numb nuts on here knows better though. Perhaps Cannovaro is kicking his heels at Juve or we could bring Sol out of his retirement?

Nowt like blades having a scapegoat though is there? Its what we do best. Gannon, Monty, Beesley, Booker, Gayle, Tiler, Monty and Graham Stuart to name but a few. Bunny is in good company. Although we are spoiled for choice right now because Henderson is getting it in the throat as well at the mo.

Not being able to save 25 yard pea rollers is a fairly bad weakness for a keeper to have. Bennett has to be a certain starter on Saturday. Foxy is spot on about Harper for 2nd though

One thing which is strangely missing though, is the fact that young Patrick has always been a bit shakey from distance, so it's nowt new anyway :)

Don't wanna bang on about it, but Harper not only pulled Monty out of position with his hestitation/ball watching, but also left the spare man after Monty went to close the one further forward.

Effectively took his midfield partner out of the game and then allowed his man to get a shot away.

Did Bunn think the second goal was going out for a goal kick or sommert, absolutely bizzare goalkeeping.

That was simply appalling goal keeping from Bunn for their 2nd. I think I could have saved that, there's no way any keeper that plays even semi pro should have let that in. It's not like the ball had any pace behind it!

>ts what we do best
you forgot to mention the new contenders evans and cotterill.. and my personal favourite steven quinn..

Q. Why does Mark Bunn use a round sandwich box for his packing up?

A. 'Cos he can't reach the corners.

Q. Why does Mark Bunn never get any letters?

A. 'Cos he cannot reach the post?

Thought early on he looked good but during the last few games appears extremely vulnerable to shots on the floor from long range Jury is out - askme in January but appears not to be up to the Blades usual standard id Kelly, Tracey, Rees, Kenny, etc

He seems to misjudge the shots on the floor. I think for the Esajas goal and the one tonight he thought they were going out and dived at the last minute.

I could have saved the one tonight.

I ain't going to go for the "string 'im up" lark either, but the long range effort was poor, poor 'keeping. The fact that we had a Grand Canyon for their 1-2 leading up to the shot didn't help, but he was very slow moving for the ball.

All in all, I'd still say 7/10, at least. He's not a bad keeper really. We've had a hell of a lot worse.

Tonight's looked poor from where I was. He did seem to misjudge it though, I'd agree. He almost seemed to 'bump' off his left knee when stretching, which is why I think it was poor 'keeping.

In general though, he seems perfectly good enough otherwise. It's possibly worrying that in what should be the easiest task, he's failed twice though.

Terrible, the first time you think it was a fluke, the second time you start to worry but you back your man because he's "one of us", and hope it's misfortune. Sorry to say, but third time you start to worry about his ability. Bennett to start on Saturday for me, but he won't, we all know Blackwell see's things months after everyone else does. Expect a brief resurgence and a string of mistakes, followed by him being dropped a couple/few games before his loan ends.
