Never did it in the shirt. No doubts. But if there was a chance to be taken, where your life depended on it, I'd back Spark above ALL the current crop including Sharp.

When all is said and done, he's underachieved.

And I expect him to start alongside either Clarke or Hanson on Monday. No real reason. Just a hunch !

He's got to go somewhere where he'll play, and work hard. He can have a good career if he does that.

Nah, his dad and his mates will make sure that doesn't happen.

At best he might get a few beers off the back of the teams success. One thing is for sure his attitude like others at the club is what kept us down the past few seasons.

Wilder sorted it and a few words won't change the chancer attitude of that type.

I really hope not. If we're serious about getting to 100 points then frankly Hanson will replace McNulty on the bench. Missing the absolute sitter on Friday was a clear reminder that he's quite rightly at the back of the queue. If you would back him above the rest of the strikers to take a chance if your life depended on it, then you clearly have a death wish.

While obviously Wilder has worked wonders with Coutts and Freeman bringing them back into the fold, it simply hasn't worked for McNulty, or for Scougall for that matter – and we might have been better off trying to get rid last summer. He will be straight out the door on the released list this summer, and rightly so.

Well, it worked last time...
He's the nearest thing we have to Sharp, who I reckon will be rested on Monday. As will a few of the other main stays this season.

Tufty will reward the fringe players. The 100 points thing is an irrelevance now.

God forbid a dream pairing of Hanson and Clarke :eek:

One of wilders most strangest decisions this season was fleetwood at home.

Leave him sat on his arse in the stands watching the players who were prepared to work their bollox off for the cause get all the credit they truly deserve and maybe (albeit too late) he might realise what might have been

Clarke is showing his undoubted ability now he's fully fit. McNulty was rightly hauled off at half-time last time he started.

Hanson/Clarke would be fine by me.

Tufty disagrees with you about the 100 points. He's made that crystal clear. So much so that I'm surprised you think otherwise.

He'll go with the lads who have put us where we are. Rightly so. They richly deserve it.

A snap judgement based on one, albeit poor individual / team performance / 45 minutes ??

Your quite right about Tuftys initial objective of the 100 points target. He has made this very clear in no uncertain terms. I have a hunch he will be much more relaxed about this in the cold light of day and, as a result, reward the fringe players with some pitch time. I would be gobsmacked if several of the players that have played 30+ games, that could consider themselves mainstays are not rested. They deserve it.

We've only 24 hours to find out, but I do think the likes of Long Wilson Scoogs Reed McNuts might get more of a sniff tomorrow.

The sort of player Rotherham should be interested in. Would be a mutually decent move. Especially if we somehow got Ward in return with a bit of cash making up the difference.
If I was manager of Rotherham I would be looking at a McNulty/Done partnership in the 3rd division ,they looked very good together pre season ,there are definitely goals in them ,and they have players who we may do a deal with.

Including Done in a deal for Danny Ward might be a decent shout if his one year contract extension is triggered.

Rochdale also have players we could be interested in and Keith Hill would love to take Done back there.

McNulty/Hanson - the perfect pairing for the Bradford game. The curse of the ex-player x2. What a hunch that would be!;)

Will forever remember him for his goal against Southampton in the league cup, paid his transfer fee for that alone! Also threw his training shirt at the Northampton promotion party into the crowd which I was fortunate enough to catch :D

Seems to have been a model professional this season and would have certainly played his part on the training ground and contributing to the overall success of the team.

Wish him the best of luck for the future, won't be here IMO, but won't be surprised if he does end up playing in the championship one day

If those 5 start I will demand my entrance fee back as the club will have contravened the Trades Descriptions Act.
What, pray has Long done this season to even merit a place on the bench? Never mind a start.

That partnership would secure them a bottom to half way spot in L1

Don't forget he will be a father soon ,that tends to settle people down ,hopefully he has had a look at himself. From what I saw in pre season he was the main player in getting players together and welcoming the new signings.

We know Chris doesn't take any shit so he's obviously behaved himself this season. I'm not 100% convinced he'll be gone next season. His general play isn't great but he's a finisher and they're hard to find. I wouldn't be shocked if CW offered him a contract, perhaps on the basis that he'll play in the u23s and have to fight his way back into the first team.

He's changed his tune, then. I wonder why ?
No he hasn't to be honest, he's been the most supportive of all the players to the Luke of Billy, Lavery and Freeman in their goals and performances. His attitude has been top class from what I've seen from him - could have easily sat back and whinged - CW must be happy with his attitude to keep putting him on the bench etc. I doubt he will be with us next year but he deserves better treatment than many have given him.

Let's have another performance and win tomorrow - UTB s

He's done plenty of whinging in the past, though ? Him, plus his dad and his mates, slagging the club on social media--plenty of discussion of this to be found elsewhere on this forum and others. I'd dig you out some links if such a claim was even halfways controversial.

I hardly ever have a go at players. If I don't know them, it doesn't seem fair. I think Marlon King was the last. I know we're all, even Tyler Durden, feeling magnanimous in victory. But let's not Stalinize the recent past ?

He should watch the video of the Southampton cup-tie and keep reminding himself of what he's capable of when he works his rocks off, then put that effort in every single time he steps on the pitch. Or maybe he just needs to watch the lads that get selected ahead of him every week.

Looks like Cheds finally dead baby. :)

Billy Sharp will be given every opportunity to get those 2 goals he needs, so it'll be him and Hanson/Clarke to start.

Chris Wilder 3-3 ;)

McCall getting a sneaky last minute winner then?

As for McNulty there's something there if he can sort his attitude out. He does have ability but there needs to be application. He could learn a lot from this bunch of players and Sharp in particular could mentor him. As always it's up to him but he really is running out of chances.
