Man Utd Fans Reaction To The Draw

I remember going to that game and they did the filming of Bean's penalty at half-time. He must have taken it seven or eight times and the crowd was asked to react as though it was a real pen. No idea who we were playing that night. Don't think it was Man U!
I don't think we were playing anyone. I went to the filming too (I was only about 10) and I seem to remember all the fans being in the South Stand first and then they moved us all to the Kop for the penalties.

We were... Think it was the 2-0 loss to Man U, Jan 95. Silent Blade? Darren?

The second half had to wait while they got the filming of an actual goal sorted :)

Different filmings? Pretty certain it wasn't a match that I went to. They definitely moved us from the South Stand to the Kop for the penalty.

They did a number of bits at multiple times, but pretty sure they used the footage from the half time filming... Perhaps the family/crowd shots were done non-matchday?

Maybe. They might not have been used but they definitely filmed some bits when there wasn't a match on. I seem to remember them appealing on Calendar for people to go to Bramall Lane for the filming. I 100% saw Sean Bean take that penalty (several times) in front of the Kop.

I've got the match on video and recall that at half time it shows you Bean jogging about on the pitch.

Aye, remember it well in person, was just sketchy as to which 3rd round cup game it was.

They were going to do more filming on the pitch in the next few days but they had to cancel because of the heavy snow (think it fell on the day after the cup tie)

The crowd scenes from memory were filmed seperately with the Club asking for volunteers to go down.
The auditions for the actual film were open audtions and held at the Octagon (I may have attended).

Catona was taking some stick from the Shoreham and when he scored he just gave us all that stare as if to say 'what have you got to say now.' Great goal but the pass from Giggs was superb.

In a previous cup tie ( one where McClair scored I think) I remember Mark Hughes kicking Tuttle up the back side. Could have sent his balls up to his throat. Don't recall if he got sent off.

I don't remember moving from the SS to the Kop but it was during a game, the filming took place at HT.

No, but it might have been a villa Swiss ;-)

No you fucking haven't. Pissing and moaning because they've not won something shiny for ten minutes?

The moaning tests your patience further when it's coming from a gobshite with a London accent. I've personally known 4 Man U fans in my lifetime whom I could call personal friends/acquaintances . Not a single one of them from Manchester. The director of the company I work for has two 'Executive Club' season tickets...he's Essex born and bred.

Yeah he walked. One of the strangest things i've seen at a game - Mark Hughes completely lost it :)

Edit: I always remember Bassett's interview after the game after he got a blitzing from Hansen & co on our "negativity". It was something along the lines of "It's alright for that lot analysing games from the comfort of a studio, praising a team that has multi-millions to spend on players - i'd like to see some of them try with what i've got to spend"

Let's face it, the only time their supporters will have seen us was during our heroic cup run to the semi's, they obviously base their nervy comments on that. If we put out a team of a keeper and 10 defenders, we have a chance of keeping the score down to about 4-0 by half time. Still us pygmies should be grateful of the opportunity to play and enjoy the experience of being up against the BBC's favourite team.

Think you will find a lot of their fans know a bit more about us than you may give us credit for. It's not all tourists that show up. Know a few Man U fans and they generally know their shit, oh and they are from Manchester as well.

I remember watching the game and coming away thinking we were unlucky, as we were much the better team. When I watched the game again the BBC team talked like Man Utd had slaughtered us and gave us no credit.

Yeh you're right, Mel Sterland was there.

You got to have respect for Manchester United Fans
...... Why?
Genuine question? Their comments above are relatively complementary but other than that why do we need to respect them?
