I went out this evening and was talking to a Man Utd fan. He was gloating about our result last night, "I'm glad we have got preston in the next round in the cup" he said. "We would of had no chance against Sheff Utd". Gutted we didn't get through as I think he was probably right. If not a win we would of given them a run for their money. Personally I think preston will get hammered, too big and clumsy a side to challenge them. Disappointed we weren't at our best Tuesday.

It was exciting to think that we'd host em at BDTBL but I think the realisation after the Preston game is that league is simply more important

I think we'd have done Man U. They're more beatable than Spurs and in a one off game we could've stood a better chance.

But we didn't even show up v Preston, so got what we deserved really.

I also don't buy this 'let's concentrate on the league' mentality. We should want to stay in both cups and the league. It's the only way that the club progresses - by playing better and better opposition and beating them.

I think I'm in a minority of one. I'm relieved we're not playing them.

Over the years I've hated every game we've played against them and all they stand for. Going to games v the Mancs you know full well the ref will always favour them and somehow they always have all the luck and more than their fair share of obnoxious players! Not quite so many of those at present I accept that but the whole razzamataz and media bias really winds me up. So disappointed our manager added to it this past week with his team selections. Referees just love to rub shoulders with the celebrities and apparently our manager does too.

Concentrate on the league FGS and next season dip out of the cups early doors and do the main job properly. There's more money in the Championship year in year out than a couple of cup runs.

There are some I know, season ticket holders who told me they wanted Preston to win because we'd "do em" at the Lane. The ones I know really want us back up with them. Not seen any since the game but I can already anticipate their expressions of relief.
