Sadly wasnt there today. Friends who went said we got battered for 70 minutes but fought back really well but by that time could have been 3 or 4 nil down. We need to start really imposing ourselves on teams and seem scared against some very ordinary sides. Hopefully with a few weeks off from league play we can get some players rested - I would give the kids another go Saturday and dont care if we go out and then we can set up for the run in.

Disappointed I could not get but unfortunately today had to be missed as been to quite a few away games recently (aswell as home games) and with me being back at work tomorrow; something had to give and Donny was the match I said I would miss so spent afternoon feeding the ducks at Graves Park with little un etc

Not at Oxford either but be back in a few weeks....

I'll handle the Oxford report Deadbat. It will be a nice change of pace someone doing a report while absolutley bladdered

How do you know I am not bladdered most weeks Jehovah?!

never really in the game, so a point is a good un. not sure the youngsters coming in was a statement of confidence in them, more a statement of how shite the more experienced options are. if we could get rid of 2 or 3 of the deadwoodsters and actually replace them with decent players, we may have a chance.

higginbum should be a good signing, but is it a sign that maguire is on his way? IF we got a good amount for him, and IF we use the money to bring in players...i'd say sell him. but you just know that if he goes it will be about 30 seconds before the window shuts, so we have a convenient excuse not to bring any players in.

im not that confident in columbo, but surely he has to start the cup game. maybe give blackman a rest. like to see whitehouse get another game too. being realistic we have to play maguire and higginbum at the back though, bed them in for the real games. optimism but we really need murphy or similar badly. and a quality central midfielder.

How did Kennedy & Whitehouse perform Foxy? You have seen them in the reserves before, did this look like a huge step up for them?

It's hard to rate them based on a game that we never really settled in to, they didn't stand out, but no-one other than Ironside really made the difference.

Kennedy early doors was held, grappled, pushed and obstructed, so whilst it's a good experience for him (though nothing particularly new) he didn't really dominate early on. He won a decent enough share of headers and was confident in both challenging his man, talking frequently and playing the ball to the full backs.

Whitehouse didn't get as much of the ball as I'd have liked him too, mainly because we kept knocking it forward and had it coming straight back at us. He was his usual energetic and confident self, generally used the ball well and surprised a few with a confident burst forward and pass out to the wing. I was surprised to see him start, as I didn't think he was 100% fit yet... We need to see more of him as he'll be an asset.

He'll be a good alternative to Doyle in my opinion, he works incredibly hard but has more to his game going forward (and arriving just at the right time to knock one in).

A great result in the prevailing circumstances.

Well done DW and the lads.

Glad we've got two weeks before the next league game: a chance to assimilate Higginbotham and Murphy (maybe one or two more).

Surely Ironside has to get a chance to start alongside Kits now?

They will soon become part of the collective. Resistance is futile.
